Optimal Control of the Thermistor Problem in Three Spatial Dimensions, Part 2: Optimality Conditions
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper is concerned with the state-constrained optimal control of the threedimensional thermistor problem, a fully quasilinear coupled system of a parabolic and elliptic PDE with mixed boundary conditions. This system models the heating of a conducting material by means of direct current. Local existence, uniqueness and continuity for the state system are derived by employing maximal parabolic regularity in the fundamental theorem of Prüss. Global solutions are addressed, which includes analysis of the linearized state system via maximal parabolic regularity, and existence of optimal controls is shown if the temperature gradient is under control. The adjoint system involving measures is investigated using a duality argument. These results allow to derive first-order necessary conditions for the optimal control problem in form of a qualified optimality system. The theoretical findings are illustrated by numerical results.

متن کاملThe Exact Solution of Min-Time Optimal Control Problem in Constrained LTI Systems: A State Transition Matrix Approach
In this paper, the min-time optimal control problem is mainly investigated in the linear time invariant (LTI) continuous-time control system with a constrained input. A high order dynamical LTI system is firstly considered for this purpose. Then the Pontryagin principle and some necessary optimality conditions have been simultaneously used to solve the optimal control problem. These optimality ...
متن کاملOptimal Boundary Control for a Time Dependent Thermistor Problem
An optimal control of a two dimensional time dependent thermistor problem is considered. The problem consists of two nonlinear partial differential equations coupled with appropriate boundary conditions which model the coupling of the thermistor to its surroundings. Based on physical considerations, an objective functional to be minimized is introduced and the convective boundary coefficient is...
متن کاملA New Optimal Solution Concept for Fuzzy Optimal Control Problems
In this paper, we propose the new concept of optimal solution for fuzzy variational problems based on the possibility and necessity measures. Inspired by the well–known embedding theorem, we can transform the fuzzy variational problem into a bi–objective variational problem. Then the optimal solutions of fuzzy variational problem can be obtained by solving its corresponding biobjective variatio...
متن کاملPlanning and Control of Two-Link Rigid Flexible Manipulators in Dynamic Object Manipulation Missions
This research focuses on proposing an optimal trajectory planning and control method of two link rigid-flexible manipulators (TLRFM) for Dynamic Object Manipulation (DOM) missions. For the first time, achievement of DOM task using a rotating one flexible link robot was taken into account in [20]. The authors do not aim to contribute on either trajectory tracking or vibration control of the End-...
