An Integrative Computational Model of Emotions

Abstract. In this paper we propose a computational model of emotions designed to provide autonomous agents with mechanisms for affective processing. We present an integrative framework as the underlying architecture of this computational model, which enables the unification of theories explaining the different facets of the human emotion process and promotes the interaction between cognitive and affective functions. This proposal is inspired by recent advances in the study of human emotions in disciplines such as psychology and neuroscience.
