چکیده
It is a well-known fact that infestation ofsheep with Oestnis ovis Linnaeus considerably damage the wool industry as it tells heavily on the health of the animal. So far, no published raport from India has come to the notice of the writers where this fly has been recorded to cause any damage to human health. Of course, there are a few reports from foreign countries where these flies were known to produce pathobgical conditions in human beings. But most of these reports are concerned with opthalmomyiasis. Patton and Evans (1929) state that external opthalmomyiasis is said to be common in many parts of South America (in Chili, Peru and Mexico) and has been recorded from Central Asia and the Sahara. Some cases have also been recorded from Germany and France. Internal opthalmomyiasis is not uncommon in Palestine. Riley and Johannsen (1932) quote a typical case described by a German oculist Kayser in 1905 where five of these larva? deposited in the eye of a six-year-old girl were removed by him. متن کاملStatus of Dorper sheep as hosts of ectoparasites.
Seventeen ixodid tick species or subspecies have been collected from Dorper sheep in South Africa. The diseases transmitted or the conditions caused by these ticks in sheep are discussed. Although Dorper sheep may be infested with the scab mite, Psoroptes ovis, this does not seem to cause production losses. These sheep may, however, serve as a source of mite infestation for woolled sheep. The m...

Clinical, hematological, and patholo...
