چکیده

cells were not neoplastic. The anisonucleolinar cells were derived from malignant tumors or were converted either by oncogenic viruses or “spontaneously― in culture. The present report is an extension of these observations to other types of cells and considers the relationship of the morphology of the nucleolini to various conditions of culture, karyotype, and the biological properties of cells.

The Effect of Prolonged Culture of Chromosomally Abnormal Human Embryos on The Rate of Diploid Cells

Background A decrease in aneuploidy rate following a prolonged co-culture of human blastocysts has been reported. As co-culture is not routinely used in assisted reproductive technology, the present study aimed to evaluate the effect of the prolonged single culture on the rate of diploid cells in human embryos with aneuploidies. MaterialsAndMethods In this cohort study, we used fluorescence in ...

17p allelic losses in diploid cells of patients with Barrett's esophagus who develop aneuploidy.

Inactivation of the p53 gene, located on chromosome 17p, leads to genetic instability and aneuploidy in vitro. Aneuploid cell populations from Barrett's adenocarcinomas have a high prevalence of 17p allelic losses, and there is substantial evidence that the target of these losses is the p53 gene. If 17p allelic losses lead to aneuploidy in Barrett's esophagus, then they should be present in dip...

I-35: Genetic Aberrations in Early Development:The Origins and The Fates

Genetic aberrations are commonly seen in human preimplantation embryos. Non-disjunction and premature division of a chromosome are common in both meiosis and mitosis divisions. The expected result for meiotic aneuploidies is full aneuploidy in the later stages whereas mosaicism is the most frequent event in the cleavage and blastocyst stages. The main causes for mosaicism are post-zygotic event...

GSHE1cell cultures were established from 13-day-gestation fetuses collected aseptically by cesarian section from inbred Syrian hamsters, strain LSH/ssLAK (Lakeview Hamster Col ony, Nuffield, N. J.). was induced by carcinogen treatment. Many cell types in culture undergo a process of neoplastic transformation spon taneously, i.e., in the absence of a known carcinogenic insult (31). During this transformation process, aneuploid cell lines arise that are often nontumorigenic in animals when injected as a cell suspension. These lines are generally termed “nor mal' â€ãnd are frequently used a...

Flow Cytometric DNA Analysis and Histopathologic Re-Evaluation of Paraffin Embedded Samples from Hydatidiform Moles and Hydropic Abortions

Background Distinction of hydatidiform moles (HMs) from non-molar abortions and sub-classification of HMs are important for clinical practice; yet, diagnosis based solely on morphology is affected by interobserver variability. The objective of this study was to determine the role of DNA flow cytometry in distinguishing molar from non-molar pregnancies. MaterialsAndMethods This retrospective stu...
