چکیده

In the process Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) derived Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), coherence enhances the raw interferograms in order to achieve a good estimation of the difference in the optical paths related to topography. Furthermore, it is an important parameter qualifying the accuracy of the interferometric measurements. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of rainfall on repeat-pass InSAR derived DEM in different land cover by evaluating the quality of coherence product. In this study, we have found that the effect of rainfall and wind might be as important as baseline decorrelation on the production of coherence. For example, under the same condition of minimum temporal decorrelation, the tandem InSAR pair with longer baseline and zero rainfall obtains better coherence than other tandem pairs. On the other hand, under different conditions of temporal decorrelation, the tandem pairs with higher rainfall records preserve lower mean coherence value than the InSAR pair with 36 days time span even though these tandem pairs have similar or smaller baseline than the 36 days InSAR pair has.

Digital Elevation Model (dem) Generation from Sar Interferometry

SAR Interferometry (InSAR) provides data that contain information relating to the phase and coherence components of the backscattered radar signals. Phase information is used to derive Digital Elevation Models (DEM). This paper presents the results of an analysis of the accuracy of InSAR DEM derived from ESAR L-band airborne repeat-pass fully polarimetric InSAR data, which were acquired over Th...

GPS Campaigns for Validation of InSAR Derived DEMs

Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is a rapidly evolving technique. Spectacular results that are obtained in various fields, such as the monitoring of earthquakes, volcanoes, land subsidence and glacier dynamics, as well as in the construction of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of the Earth's surface and the classification of different land types, have demonstrated its strength. A...

QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF INTERFEROMETRIC SAR DEMs

A new interferometric SAR (InSAR) procedure for DEM generation was employed to generate different DEMs from ERS SAR image pairs. The procedure was validated comparing the InSAR DEMs with a suited reference DEM. In the first part of the paper the principal features of the procedure are briefly summarised. The second part is focused on the quality assessment of the InSAR DEMs. They cover the same...

Experiences with Multiresolution and Multifrequency InSAR Height Model Generation

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) has become a broad field encompassing the use of both airborne and spaceborne sensors operating at a range of wavelengths and resolutions. This paper derives general conclusions from experiences at the Remote Sensing Laboratories of the University of Zürich with a variety of airborne and spaceborne InSAR sensors. Results from multiple systems ope...

Improving Dems Using Sar Interferometry

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) processing relies on phase unwrapping to convert interferometric phase to topographic height. Phase unwrapping is a di cult non-linear process that is still the subject of on-going research. Rather than processing the complete phase image to extract a digital elevation model (DEM), we use existing coarse DEMs as an integral part of the InSAR algo...
