Evaluation of sE-selectin and sPECAM-1 levels in patients diagnosed with food allergy

چکیده
Introduction PECAM-1 (CD31) (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1) is an adhesive molecule found on the side surfaces of endothelial cells and blood platelets, taking part in the cell adhesion processes. Adhesive molecules are known to play an important part in the inflammatory processes, including inflammations with allergic background. The goal of the study was to assess the sEselectin and sPECAM-1 levels in patients diagnosed with food allergies.

Role of E-selectin and platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1 in gastritis in food allergy patients
INTRODUCTION The prevalence of food allergies and other allergic reactions is increasing worldwide, particularly in highly-urbanized populations. Cell adhesion molecules are expressed in response to various pro-inflammatory cytokines. The expression of intercellular adhesion molecule 1 - ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-1 (CD106), P-selectin (CD62P), and E-selectin (CD62E) on vascular endothelial cells is i...
متن کاملSerum levels of soluble platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 are decreased in subjects with autism spectrum disorder
BACKGROUND Adhesion molecules, such as platelet-endothelial adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1), platelet selectin (P-selectin), endothelial selectin (E-selectin), intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), are localized on the membranes of activated platelets and leukocytes and on the vascular endothelium. Recently, we measured serum levels of soluble...
متن کاملSoluble E-selectin and P-Selectin Serum Levels in Patients with Psoriasis Compared to Healthy Controls
Introduction: Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disease in which abnormal individual immune reactivity plays an important role. Eselectin and P-selectin are adhesion molecules expressed on vascular endothelial cells in several inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis. The aim of the present study was to describe selected immunological changes, concerning adhesion molecules status (sEsele...

Background: Selenium (Se) is part of the glutathione peroxidase enzyme complex (GSH-PX) that plays an important role in antioxidant mechanisms in body, also it has been demonstrated that populations with low Se intake have 2-3 times greater risk of ischemic heart disease. Objective: To determine the circulating levels of IL- 6, TNF-α, Cu, Zn, and Se in patients with chronic coronary artery dis...
متن کاملTrace Elements Status in Sera of Patients with Allergic Asthma
Background: Asthma is a multifactorial disease and its severity varies with the inflammatory grade. There are conflicting reports about the roles of trace elements in asthma. This study examined the effects of zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and selenium (Se) concentrations in sera of patients with allergic asthma attending Ghaem Hospital, Mashhad, Iran. Methods: Forty-nine patients, aged 10 to 50 y...
