چکیده
The class I receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) HER2 is an oncoprotein that is frequently involved in the pathogenesis of tumors of epithelial origin. Here we report mRNA expression in peripheral blood and bone marrow cells from healthy donors in hematopoietic cell lines and leukemic blasts from patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), chronic lymphoblastic leukemia (CLL), and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). However, cell surface expression of HER2 protein ( ~ 1 8 5 ’ ~ ~ ~ ) was found exclusively on a subset of leukemic cells of the B-lymphoblastic lineage. ~ 1 8 5 ’ ~ ~ ’ expression was found on blasts in 2 of 15 samples from infants, 9 of 19 samples from adult patients with C-ALL [CDlS+CDIO+), and 1 of 2 samples from patients with pro-B ALL (CDISfCD1O-), whereas none of the leukemic

FMS-like Tyrosine Kinase-3 Mutation in a Child with Standard-risk ALL and Normal Karyotype
FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase expressed by immature hematopoietic cells and is important for the normal development of stem cells and the immune system. Mutations of FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 have been detected in about 30% of patients with acute myelogenous leukemia and a small number of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 muta...
متن کاملSeparation of lymphoid and myeloid blasts in the mixed blast crisis of chronic myelogenous leukemia: no evidence for Ig gene rearrangement in CALLA-positive blasts.
Recent studies suggest that lymphoid blast crisis cells of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) expressing the common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA) are B precursor cells, based on the demonstration of immunoglobulin (Ig) gene rearrangement similar to common acute lymphocytic leukemia. There is little evidence to suggest whether the cells with similar lymphoid characteristics in the...
متن کاملDETERMINATION OF A SHARED EPITOPE ON CELLS FROM ACUTE MYELOGENIC LEUKEMIA (AML) AND T-ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA ( T-ALL)
Two IgM monoclonal antibodies (MAb) with strong reactivity for granulocytes and to a lesser extent for lurkat cell lines were established by immunizing BALBI c mice with a histiocytic cell line (UY37). These two MAbs (designated as 6C9 and 4C4) reacted with blast cells of T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients as well as leukemic cells from pat...
متن کاملFlow Cytometry in Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Blast Crisis
Background: Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder due to BCR-ABL1 translocation. Patients showing transformation into blast crisis (BC) have poorer treatment response and prognosis. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in the department of Pathology, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India, over a time period of 5 years (2014-2019) to evaluate the ...
متن کاملRelationship between ABO blood group and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) constitute a family of genetically heterogeneous lymphoid neoplasms derived from B- and T-lymphoid progenitors. ALL affects both children and adults. Diagnosis is based on morphologic, immunophenotypic, and genetic features that allow differentiation from normal progenitors and other hematopoietic and nonhematopoietic neoplasms. The aim of this study was to in...
