OECD GUIDELINES FOR THE TESTING OF CHEMICALS PROPOSAL FOR A NEW GUIDELINE 223 Avian Acute Oral Toxicity Test

چکیده
• Limit dose test – this is the preferred test when toxicity is expected to be low and lethality is unlikely at the limit dose. The limit dose must be adequate for assessment purposes, and it is usually 2000 mg/kg body-weight. • Full test: LD50-only test – this is the preferred test when an estimate of the median lethal dose is required but neither the slope of the dose response curve or the confidence interval for the LD50 is required. This may be the appropriate test to estimate a percentile of a species sensitivity distribution of LD50s and to provide information for product labelling purposes. • Full test: Dose-response test – this is the preferred test when the slope of the dose response curve and/or the confidence interval is required in addition to an estimate of the LD50.

OECD GUIDELINE FOR TESTING OF CHEMICALS Proposal for a New DRAFT GUIDELINE 434: Acute Dermal Toxicity – Fixed Dose Procedure
1. OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals are periodically reviewed in the light of scientific progress and animal welfare considerations. The original acute Dermal Toxicity Guideline TG 402 (1) was adopted in 1987. Development of a dermal Fixed Dose Procedure (FDP) was considered appropriate, following adoption of the revised Oral FDP, OECD Guideline 420 (2) and deletion of OECD Guidelin...

1. In Copenhagen in June 1995, an OECD Working Group on Reproduction and Developmental Toxicity discussed the need to update existing OECD Test Guidelines for reproduction and developmental toxicity and the development of new Guidelines for endpoints not yet covered. The Working Group recommended that the Guideline for Developmental Toxicity should be revised, based on a proposal received from ...

2 In 1998, the OECD initiated a high-priority activity, to revise existing Test Guidelines and to develop new Test Guidelines for the screening and testing of potential endocrine disruptors (8). One element of the activity was to update the existing OECD guideline for “repeated dose 28-day oral toxicity study in rodents” (TG 407) by parameters suitable to detect endocrine activity of test subst...
متن کاملAcute and Subchronic Toxicity Assessment of Aerial Parts of Ferula persica in Female Mice
Background: Ferula species have shown wide range of pharmacological properties but there is no study on oral safety profile of Ferula persica due to standard toxicology guidelines. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the acute and subchronic oral toxicity of the alcoholic extract of the aerial parts of Ferula persica to provide its safe dose for long term oral administrations as a possible...

Development of an Inhalation Acute Toxic Class (ATC) method (2)(3)(4) was considered appropriate following the adoption of the revised oral ATC method (TG 423)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9) in December 2001. This ATC metho...
