We present preliminary results of a search for B0 → K0K0 decays in the K0 S K0 S final state using a sample of approximately 23 million BB pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B Factory at SLAC. We find no evidence for a signal and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of 7.3 × 10−6 at the 90% confidence level. The SLAC B Factory was approved by President Clinton in October 1993. The inaugural meeting of the detector collaboration was held at SLAC in December 1993, at which time the 9 nation BaBar collaboration began.
