چکیده

In this paper, a unifying framework for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) multiuser resource allocation is presented. The isolated seeming problems of maximizing a weighted sum of rates for a given power budget P̄ and minimizing sum power for given rate requirements R̄ can be interpreted jointly in this framework. To this end we embed the problems in a higher dimensional space. Based on these results, we subsequently consider the combined problem of maximizing a weighted sum of rates under given rate requirements R̄ and a fixed power budget P̄ . This new problem is challenging, since the additional constraints do not allow to use the hitherto existing approaches. Interestingly, the optimal decoding orders turn out to be the ordering of the Lagrangian factors in all problems. In this paper, a low complexity subcarrier allocation scheme is proposed for multiuser MIMO-multiuser OFDM systems with zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) to minimize the total transmit power satisfying given target data rates of users. The ZFBF for multiuser MIMO makes multiple spatial channels by removing multiuser interference and the subcarrier allocation can be performed over spatial and freq...

Adaptive Subcarrier and Power Allocation in OFDM Based on Maximizing Utility

This paper investigates adaptive resource allocation on the downlink of multiuser OFDM networks to achieve both multiuser diversity and fairness. Utility functions are applied to quantify the level of users’ satisfaction derived from the radio resources they occupy. We formulate crosslayer optimization problem as one that maximizes the sum of the utilities over all active users subject to the f...
