VEGF-C Antisense Suppression of A-549 Lung Carcinoma Invasion

چکیده
Lung cancer, with high morbidity and mortality and poor prognosis, is a worldwide problem. Though rapid progress has been made in operation and other comprehensive treatment recently, the 5-year survival rate of lung cancer is not satisfactory. So doctors are aiming to find a new way of treatment, that is gene therapy (Tangney, 2010). VEGF-C is a specific lymphatic endothelial cell growth factor, its roles of promoting tumor cell growth and angiogenesis have been reported in more literatures( Mandriota et al., 2001; Benke et al., 2010) .In this study, VEGF-C ASODN was transfected into A-549 cell lines, its invasive ability and expression of VEGF-C were examined, maybe the gene VEGF-C will be a new target in treatment of lung cancer.

In vivo and in vitro antitumor effect of a unique nutrient mixture on lung cancer cell line A-549.
The high incidence of lung cancer and ineffective toxic action of current mono and doublet chemotherapy approaches result in poor patient survival. Further, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are implicated in neoplastic invasion and metastasis. Based on this, the authors investigated the effect of a dietary micronutrient mixture (NM) containing lysine, proline, arginine, ascorbic acid, and green...
متن کاملEffect of cyclooxygenase-2 antisense oligodeoxyribonucleotides in A-549 lung cancer cells.
BACKGROUND Cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 is overexpressed in several tumor entities and seems to play a key role in carcinogenesis. This makes it a potential target in cancer therapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twelve phosphorothioate-modified antisense oligonucleotides (asODNs) against six targets of COX-2 mRNA were transfected to A-549 lung carcinoma cells. COX-2 mRNA and protein levels were determined...

New therapeutic strategies are necessary to improve the treatment of lung cancer. We investigated the effects of bombesin/gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) antagonist, RC-3940-II, and growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) antagonists, MZ-J-7-114 and MZ-J-7-118, on the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/HER (-2, -3, and -4) family, angiogenic factors, VEGF-A and VEGF receptors...
متن کاملPTPRG suppresses tumor growth and invasion via inhibition of Akt signaling in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, Receptor Type G (PTPRG) was identified as a candidate tumor suppressor gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). PTPRG induces significant in vivo tumor suppression in NPC. We identified EGFR as a PTPRG potential interacting partner and examined this interaction. Dephosphorylation of EGFR at EGFR-Y1068 and -Y1086 sites inactivated the PI3K/Akt signaling cascade and s...
متن کاملImmunoglobulin-like transcript 4 promotes tumor progression and metastasis and up-regulates VEGF-C expression via ERK signaling pathway in non-small cell lung cancer
Immunoglobulin-like transcript (ILT) 4 has long been thought to be cell-surface molecule in certain immune cells and negatively regulates immune response. Recently, overexpression of ILT4 has been observed in a few cancers with unknown function. Here, we showed manipulation of ILT4 affected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro analyses. In vivo,...
