چکیده
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most common form of chronic anovulation associated with androgen excess. Large scale studies have observed a prevalence rate of PCOS 5% to 10% among reproductive-age women.1,2 Currently, there are 3 widely accepted sets of criteria for diagnosis of PCOS.3,4 After excluding other causes of hyperandrogenism, National Institute of Health (NIH) criteria (1990) requires I) evidence of hyperandrogenism (clinical or biochemical) and II) evidence of anovulation or oligo-ovulation. Rotterdam criteria (2003) added the presence of polycystic ovarian morphology (2 out of 3 need to be present). The Androgen Excess and PCOS society criteria (2006) considered polycystic ovarian morphology as an alternative evidence of ovarian dysfunction. However, the diagnosis of PCOS is often a diagnostic dilemma, as because not all patients express hyperandrogenism. A substantial number of women may have polycystic appearing ovaries American Research Journal of Endocrinology Volume 1, Issue 1, pp:1-8

Relationship between Serum Levels of Anti-Mullerian Hormone, Adiponectin and Oxidative Stress Markers in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age. Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is a valid indicator of ovarian function and is used for PCOS diagnosis. Some studies have shown that adipokines affect the synthesis of AMH, and therefore they are somehow related in function. The aim of the present study was to determine the relationshi...
