Loss less Active Damping for LC Filter of Vector Controlled Induction Motor

In common, all industries depends on electrical converters to fed ac motor drives, however owing to high dv/dt of VSI output voltagesbearing failure, insulation failure of motor windings and problems associated with magnetic attraction interference has become a problem. To beat all these tangles, an LC filter is employed between VSI and Motor. But this LC filter creates some unwanted disturbance at resonant frequency; this disturbance is damped out with a resistance connected in series with condenser of the filter. However it results in increased loss within the system. Therefore it's proposing that ACTIVE DAMPING technique for VSI fed Induction machine under resonance condition. Here this Active Damping doesn’t have an effect on the main control loops of the vector control. A virtual series resistance that needs to be enclosed within the LC circuit has to be emulated. The control action is taken in per phase basis for accurate extraction of resonant frequency signal. This system neither affects the dynamic response of the drive nor changes the design of the standard vector control loops. Results from MATLAB Simulation of ac motor drives are planned to be bestowed.
