Metanephric Adenofibroma in a young adult

چکیده
cAsE A 29-year-old female patient was admitted after a computed tomography (CT) scan showing a neoplasm measuring 4.5×4.0×4.5cm located in the middle and dorsal part of the left kidney (Figure-1). In the CT plain scan phase, the neoplasm had almost equal density with the normal kidney, and the CT unit was 45. It had a clear boundary, and part of the neoplasm extruded the renal contour. A multiple patchy low density area could be seen in the neoplasm Vol. 43 (3): 563-565, May June, 2017

Metanephric Adenofibroma Masquerading as Wilms’ Tumor
Metanephric adenofibroma is a rare, biphasic, benign tumor containing both stromal and epithelial components and could be potentially mistaken as Wilms' tumor (WT). We present a 5-year-old girl who was suspected to have metastatic Wilms' tumor on radiological investigations/tru-cut biopsy and had received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, but postoperatively final histopathology revealed it as metaneph...
متن کاملCorrelation of radiological and clinical features of metanephric neoplasms in adults.
The main objective was to determine the clinical and radiological features of metanephric neoplasms. The tumors were diagnosed on histopathological examination. The clinical data and imaging features were retrospectively analyzed. Between 1998 and 2003, 3 patients underwent radical nephrectomy for renal masses turning out as metanephric neoplasms on histopathology. Two of these tumors were meta...

We reported a case of metanephric adenofibroma in a 10-year-old boy to describe the clinical, radiologic, and pathologic features and discuss its treatment and differential diagnosis. Nephrectomy was performed for the patient; final histopathologic evaluation was that of a metanephric adenofibroma. Epithelial and stromal elements were both positive for WT-1, Vimentin, PAX2, and the epithelial t...

Classification The major morphological classifications (WHO/ AFIP; modified Mainz classification, and the Heidelberg classification) discriminate eight sub-types of renal cell tumors related to the basic cell types of the nephron from which they are derived, and in line with the genetic facts as presently understood: 1) metanephric adenoma and metanephric adenofibroma, 2) papillary adenoma, 3) ...
متن کاملMetanephric adenosarcoma: a rare case with immunohistochemistry and molecular analysis
BACKGROUND Metanephric neoplasms comprised a spectrum of kidney tumors containing renal epithelial or stromal cells or both, including metanephric adenoma, metanephric stromal tumor, and metanephric adenofibroma. The majority of cases were benign; only one case of "metanephric adenosarcoma" had been reported in the English literature. HISTORY We present the case of a 69-year-old man who devel...
