Effects of Antioxidant Supplementation on Oxidative Stress in Trained Cyclists

چکیده

trenuous physical exercise is thought to stimulate increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), as demonstrated by elevated markers of oxidative stress in the skeletal muscle, blood, and urine of athletes. Antioxidant supplementation has been shown to reduce levels of such markers, and as such, holds promise for limiting exercise-induced oxidative damage, reducing the rate of muscle fatigue, and hastening recovery from bouts of intense exercise. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a fullspectrum antioxidant supplement on urinary markers of oxidative stress in trained cyclists.
