چکیده

Despite its rarity, PRES may affect other areas than posterior lobe. Some reported the atypical variant of PRES in which the main lesion was in the brainstem [2-6]. The patients show various combinations of neurological symptoms including visual symptoms, but rarely complain of diplopia [2]. Here we report a man with isolated concomitant strabismus, who was initially suspected as having brainstem glioma but was finally diagnosed with PRES. Abstract

Unexpected Maternal Convulsion: An Idiopathic Case of Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome after Delivery

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is associated with various clinical manifestations such as headache, blurred vision, confusion and tonic-clonic convulsion. Some of the predisposing factors for PRES include hypertensive encephalopathy, preeclampsia and eclampsia, lupus erythematosus, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and long-term use of immunosuppressive drugs. Parainfluenza virus infection associated with posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome: a case report

INTRODUCTION Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinical and radiological entity. The most accepted theory of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a loss of autoregulation in cerebral blood flow with a subsequent increase in vascular permeability and leakage of blood plasma and erythrocytes, producing vasogenic edema. In infection-associated posterior reversible enceph...

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome presenting with seizures.

Hyperperfusion syndrome, previously known as posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), is a clinico- radiological entity with characteristic features on neuro-imaging. We report the case of an elderly man who presented with convulsions and was diagnosed to have PRES due to hypertension.

A case of autoimmune thyroid disease presenting posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome.

A 40-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with disturbance of consciousness and seizure. We diagnosed encephalopathy associated with autoimmune thyroid disease (EAATD). Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery and diffusion-weighted MRI demonstrated hyperintense lesions in the left occipitotemporal lobe on admission, but these findings disappeared on day 11 without neurological deficits, comp...

Posterior reversible Leukoencephalopathy following thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura at postpartum period: case report

Background: Posterior reversible leukoencephalopathy syndrome (PRLS) is a clinical and radiological syndrome of heterogeneous etiologies that are grouped because of the similar findings on neuroimaging studies which may occur at any age. The pathogenesis of RPLS remains unclear, but it appears to be related to disordered cerebral autoregulation and endothelial dysfunction. The syndrome is more ...
