چکیده
Successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme is proposed as a new technique that has the potential to reduce the interference and suppress the multiple-access interference (MAI) in spectral-amplitudecoding (SAC) optical-code-division-multiple access (OCDMA) systems. The proposed receiver-based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) techniques. The performance of the proposed system is theoretically analyzed, taking into account various types of noise and interference, including both multiple-access interference (MAI) and receiver noise. Analytical results show that the proposed system offers significant improvement in terms of bit error rate and system capacity (number of users). We have tested our results with both modified prime codes (MPR) and modified quadratic congruence (MQC) codes. In addition, we have compared our proposed system with the corresponding one without cancellation. It has been shown that the proposed scheme gives a substantial increase in capacity. 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Interference Mitigation Using Successive Interference Cancellation in Optical CDMA Systems
Performance of optical code division multiple access (O-CDMA) system is influenced by multiple access interference (MAI) resulted from the overlapping between the users. To overcome this problem, successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme is applied to O-CDMA systems. In this paper we apply successive interference cancellation technique to a spectral amplitude coding (SAC) system that us...
متن کاملSuccessive Interference Cancellation for Optical CDMA Systems: Fundamental Principles
In this paper successive interference cancellation (SIC) based on optical code division multiple access (O-CDMA) systems has been investigated. SIC scheme refers to a family of low complexity multi-user detection (MUD) methods for direct sequence CDMA systems. Performance of optical CDMA system is influenced by multiple access interference (MAI) resulted from the overlapping between the users. ...

Multiple User Interference (MUI) considers the primary problem in Optical Code-Division Multiple Access (OCDMA), which resulting from the overlapping among the users. In this article we aim to mitigate this problem by studying an interference cancellation scheme called successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme. This scheme will be tested on two different detection schemes, spectral ampl...

This paper presents the comparative performance of different detection and coding schemes for spectral-amplitude-coded optical code division multiple access (SACOCDMA) system. SAC-OCDMA systems are receiving more attention because of their ability to completely eliminate multiple access interference (MAI). Fiber Bragg grating (FBGs) are used as encoder/decoder. Experimental simulation was carri...

In this paper we study the use of a new code called Random Diagonal (RD) code for Spectral Amplitude Coding (SAC) optical Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) networks, using Fiber Bragg-Grating (FBG), FBG consists of a fiber segment whose index of reflection varies periodically along its length. RD code is constructed using code level and data level, one of the important properties of this cod...
