چکیده
The analysis and design of a cylindrical cavity for microwave heating applications, including the feeding mechanism is proposed in this paper. The cylindrical cavity design aims at the production of a uniform field distribution, avoiding non-uniform heating and thermal runaway. The analysis of the device is based on the Mode Matching Technique. This has been proved to be an efficient and robust technique for the analysis of multiple discontinuities. The feeding structures maybe a circular, rectangular or coaxial waveguide. All quantities involved in the analysis are evaluated analytically achieving a fast and accurate method.

Microwave Heating Cavities: Modelling and Analysis
In this paper, cylindrical metallic cavities used in the processes of dielectric materials heating and drying by microwave energy, are discussed. Their mode tuning behaviour under different loading and excitation conditions has been presented. A short review of techniques used for modelling and analysis purposes as well as the numerical results mostly experimentally verified are given.

In this paper, an enhanced computational code was developed using finite-volume method for solving the incompressible natural convection flow within the cylindrical cavities. Grids were generated by an easy method with a view to computer program providing. An explicit integration algorithm was applied to find the steady state condition. Also instead of the conventional algorithms of SIMPLE, SIM...

In this paper, we present numerical results obtained from a robust, locally conformal 3-D Orthogonal Grid Finite Difference (OGFD) thermal algorithm introduced in Part I of our current investigation [Al-Rizzo et al., 2006] integrated with an Orthogonal Grid Finite-Difference Time Domain (OGFDTD) scheme [Al-Rizzo et al., 2000], which accurately models the volumetric electromagnetic (EM) power de...
متن کاملAnalysis of Nonlinear Cylindrical Waveguide Taper Using Modal Matching Technique
Nonlinear tapered waveguide sections are often needed in the microwave/millimeter-wave system to connect the two waveguides of different radii. The presence of such a taper inevitably introduces unwanted parasitic modes and reflections. The modal matching technique is a powerful computer friendly method for analyzing horn antennas or nonlinear waveguides in which the actual profile is replaced ...
متن کاملA ug 1 99 4 Numerical investigation of iso - spectral cavities built from triangles
We present computational approaches as alternatives to the recent microwave cavity experiment by S. (1994)) on iso-spectral cavities built from triangles. A straightforward proof of iso-spectrality is given based on the mode matching method. Our results show that the experiment is accurate to 0.3% for the first 25 states. The level statistics resemble those of GOE when the integrable part of th...
