چکیده
An innovative computational tool (DAG-MCNP) has been developed for efficient and accurate 3-D nuclear analysis of geometrically complex fusion systems. Direct coupling with CAD models allows preserving the geometrical details, eliminating possible human error, and faster design iterations. DAG-MCNP has been applied to perform 3-D nuclear analysis for several fusion designs and demonstrated the ability to generate highfidelity high-resolution results that significantly improve the design process. This tool will be the core for a full CAD-based simulation predictive capability that couples engineering analyses directly to the CAD solid model. The accuracy of the results obtained using the surface source write/read feature of MCNP for toroidal fusion systems was assessed. Techniques that enhance the effectiveness of the surface source method were identified. Accurate results can be obtained for a specific component in a fusion system by either inserting the detailed component CAD geometry in the full model for the fusion system or ut...

Developments in computer architecture and neutronics code capabilities have enabled high-resolution analysis of complex 3-D geometries. Thus, accurately modeling 3-D source distributions has become important for performing nuclear analyses. In this work two methods are described which generate and sample such 3-D sources based directly on the plasma parameters of a fusion device and which facil...
متن کاملAn Efficient Technique for Substrate Coupling Parasitic Extraction with Application to RF/Microwave Spiral Inductors (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper presents an efficient modeling method, based on the microstrip lines theory, for the coupling between a substrate backplane and a device contact. We derive simple closed-form formulas for rapid extraction of substrate parasitics. We use these formulas to model spiral inductors as important substrate-noise sources in mixed-signal systems. The proposed model is verified for the freque...
