Temporal aspects of functional modelling for design analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
Qualitative simulation interpreted by the use of functional labels to identify significant system behaviour has been shown to be a useful technique for automating design analysis tasks such a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis. However, increasing sophistication of the systems to be analysed means that it is becoming increasingly important that the correct timing of these system functions be included in the analysis but the existing functional labels do not capture this information. This paper discusses difficulties arising from this lack and the problems of modelling timing of achievement of functions. It proposes a simple approach to modelling temporal aspects of system function that allows both non achievement and unexpected achievement of a system function to be detected in design analysis as well as showing situations when a function is achieved later (or earlier) than it should be.

Fundamentals of 3D modelling and resource estimation in coal mining
The prerequisite of maintaining an efficient and safe mining operation is the proper design of a mine by considering all aspects. The first step in a coal mine design is a realistic geometrical modelling of the coal seam(s). The structural features such as faults and folding must be reliably implemented in 3D seam models. Upon having a consistent seam model, the attributes such as calorific val...
متن کاملExpression of Time and Duration Constraints in SDL
in this paper we give an overview on a set of time related features, useful in the context of real-time system design and classify them into two categories, those needed for modelling of non functional aspects and analysis, and those needed for functional design. We allow the distinction between functional and non functional timing aspects of a specification. We show how these features are repr...
متن کاملAlterations in Hippocampal Functional Connectivity in patients with Mesial Temporal Sclerosis
Introduction: Medial temporal sclerosis (MTS) is a form of mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE). It is typically characterized by structural alterations in hippocampus (HC) and related mesial temporal lobe (MTL) network. Resting state functional connectivity (RSFC) is considered an ideal technique in quantifying the dysfunction and maladaptation in MTL network. It is well- dem...
متن کاملImproving the Performance of ICA Algorithm for fMRI Simulated Data Analysis Using Temporal and Spatial Filters in the Preprocessing Phase
Introduction: The accuracy of analyzing Functional MRI (fMRI) data is usually decreases in the presence of noise and artifact sources. A common solution in for analyzing fMRI data having high noise is to use suitable preprocessing methods with the aim of data denoising. Some effects of preprocessing methods on the parametric methods such as general linear model (GLM) have previously been evalua...
متن کاملObject Oriented Notation for Modelling Quantitative Aspects
Nowadays formal methods and analysis techniques in design and modelling of modern computer controlled systems become more and more important. To provide easy-to-use tools for ensuring the overview of complex systems, multi-aspect modelling languages are specified (e.g. the Unified Modeling Language UML). While focusing on best capturing the complex functionality, these languages neglect non-fun...
