چکیده

The possible association of 23 HL-A specificities with susceptibility to cancer was investigated in a total of 1996 patients and 906 controls. Cancer patients whose cancers were subdivided into the broad location categories of bladder, breast, cervix, colon, endometrium, lung, lymphoma, mela noma, ovary, prostate, rectum, sarcoma, and stomach showed significant departure in some HL-A antigen frequencies from that of controls. In a series of 321 Hodgkin's disease patients,

and a 5% level of significance, seven different associations appear to be valid. However, when the p value is corrected by multiplying it by the number of factors investigated, only the association of HL-A12 with lymphocytic lymphomas and the 4c antigen with chronic lymphatic leukemia appear to be significant. The previously described increased incidence of W5 and 4c in Hodgkin's disease was no...

Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes in Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas.

Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNSs) rarely associate with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-HLs (NHLs). Except for paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) in HL and dermato/ polymyositis in both HL and NHL, other PNSs are uncommon and have only been reported as isolated case reports or short series. There are several important differences in PNSs when occurring in association with HL ...

Highly Purified Papain - Solubilized HL - A Antigens Contain # 2 - Microglobulin ( polypeptide chains / spleen - cell membranes / histocompatibility determinants ) PER

HL-A antigens comprising 11 different antigenic specificities were isolated after papain solubilization of spleen-cell membrane constituents. During the entire purification procedure, /32-microglolbulin appeared together with the HL-A antigens. The highly purified antigens were composed of two polypeptide chains. The large subunit carried the antigenic specificity whereas the small polypeptide ...

Relationship between Hl-a Antigens and Β2-microglobulin as Studied by Immunofluorescence on the Lymphocyte Membrane

The antibody-induced redistribution of beta2-microglobulin (beta2-micro) and HL-A antigens on the surface of living lymphocytes was studied by immunofluorescence. When all beta2-micro was redistributed on the lymphocyte membrane by specific rabbit antibodies and goat antirabbit Ig conjugates, the HL-A antigens were no more detectable with anti-HL-A conjugates outside the beta2-micro caps alread...

Membrane protein biosensing with plasmonic nanopore arrays and pore-spanning lipid membranes.

Integration of solid-state biosensors and lipid bilayer membranes is important for membrane protein research and drug discovery. In these sensors, it is critical that the solid-state sensing material does not have adverse effects on the conformation or functionality of membrane-bound molecules. In this work, pore-spanning lipid membranes are formed over an array of periodic nanopores in free-st...
