Portability of Mobile Multimedia Application Platforms with a Horizontal Layered Architecture

چکیده

The mobile industry is facing an exponential growth in styles and features of handsets. Video broadcasts, rich media and MMI styles are just some of the required features for next generation mobile devices. Meeting this challenge requires a software platform that can be scaled and deployed quickly in order to address the convergence and diversity of mobile multimedia devices. This paper introduces a horizontal architecture for mobile middleware that serves as an advanced mobile application platform with adaptation layers for portability. This architecture presents a rich development environment for application, and is currently deployed in the real world over many wireless networks.
