Development of a reverse transcription-quantitative PCR assay for detection of salivirus/klassevirus.

چکیده
A broadly reactive and highly sensitive reverse transcription-quantitative PCR assay to detect salivirus/klassevirus was developed. By means of the developed assay, salivirus/klassevirus was detected in 13 (93%) raw sewage, 4 (29%) secondary-treated sewage, and 9 (16%) river water samples, with a maximum concentration of 9.7 × 10(6) copies/liter.

Serological evidence of human klassevirus infection.
Klassevirus is a proposed new genus of picornavirus that has been associated with pediatric diarrhea. In this study, we used recombinant klassevirus 3C protease as the capture antigen for an indirect serological enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Four of six klassevirus reverse transcription (RT)-PCR-positive individuals demonstrated seroconversion against the 3C protease, suggesting th...
متن کاملDevelopment and Evaluation of Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction Test for Quantitative and Qualitative Recognition of H5 Subtype of Avian Influenza Viruses
Avian influenza viruses (AIV) affect a wide range of birds and mammals, cause severe economic damage to the poultry industry, and pose a serious threat to humans. Highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (HPAI) H5N1 were first identified in Southeast Asia in 1996 and spread to four continents over the following years. The viruses have caused high mortality in chickens and various bird species ...
متن کاملA Reverse transcription-PCR assay for detection of type A influenza virus and differentiation of avian H7 subtype
Abstract : Avian influenza virus (AIV) infection is a major cause of influenza mortality in birds and can cause human mortality and morbidity. Although the risk of infection with avian influenza virus (AIV) is generally low for most people, the pathogenic virus can cross the species barrier and acquires the ability to infect and be transmitted among the human population; therefore the ra...
متن کاملDevelopment of Multiplex Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction for Simultaneous Detection of Influenza A, B and Adenoviruses
Background and objective:Millions of people in developing countries lose their lives due to acute respiratory infections, such as Influenza A & B and Adeno viruses. Given the importance of rapid identification of the virus, in this study the researchers attempted to design a method that enables detection of influenza A, B, and adenoviruses, quickly and simultaneously. ...
متن کاملPicornavirus Salivirus/Klassevirus in Children with Diarrhea, China
To learn more about salivirus/klassevirus, we tested feces of children with diarrhea in China during 2008-2009. We isolated the virus from 9/216 diarrhea samples and 0/96 control samples. The nearly full polyprotein of 1 isolate, SH1, showed 95% identity with a salivirus from Nigeria, indicating widespread distribution and association with diarrhea.
