Floor Slabs Which are Frightening From Underneath, But Following Minor Repair Repeatedly Durable

چکیده
The paper is intended to deal with a certain failure of a floor slab type, which was favored in the beginning of the 20 century in Hungary. The main features are: between skeleton ceramic filling elements in situ reinforced concrete beams are prepared during the construction of the relatively narrowly spaced RC beamed slabs. In the studied cases mainly due to the pure workmanship of concrete construction, and/or due to some other influencing factors the bottom surface of the ceilings of such construction systems delaminated. The first underneath sight of such failures are usually frightening, and if an inexperienced person views the result, the statement of the slab to be life dangerous, and it should be reconstructed may be made. At the same time the slab may be saved, and the repair is much more cost effective than demolishing and reconstructing the structure.

Investigation of the Progressive Collapse Potential in Steel Buildings with Composite Floor System
Abnormal loads due to natural events, implementation errors and some other issues can lead to occurrence of progressive collapse in structures. Most of the past researches consist of 2- Dimensional (2D) models of steel frames without consideration of the floor system effects, which reduces the accuracy of the modeling. While employing a 3-Dimensional (3D) model and modeling the concrete slab sy...

This paper deals with the modeling of punching shear failure in reinforced concrete slabs using nonlinear finite element analysis. The 3D finite element analyses (FEA) were performed with the appropriate modeling of element size and mesh, and the constitutive modeling of concrete. The FE numerical models are validated by comparing with the experimental results obtained from tested specimens and...
متن کاملStructural Consideration in Design of Reinforced Concrete Slabs with Openings
Over 90% of framed structures in Uganda are built from reinforced concrete. Prior to the 1990’s, most buildings had no openings in slabs, yet in city centers buildings butt against each other with widows at front and back only. This limited retail activities to front rooms of the ground floor and the buildings had to be narrow. A baseline survey of 50 shopping malls in Kampala Central Business ...

Reconstructive surgery for pelvic-floor dysfunction is challenging and complex. It requires an extensive familiarity with pelvic anatomy and a wide armamentarium of surgical procedures to offer patients with various structural defects. Not every patient is suited for every procedure and the surgeon must be able to individualize the approach. Each technique has indications and benefits: vaginal ...
متن کاملThe Anomalous Insertion of Pectoralis Minor (Le Double Type III): A case report
Introduction: The pectoralis minor muscle originates from third to fifth ribs of the chest wall and inserts at the medial side of the coracoid process of Scapula. It contributes to the abduction of the scapulothoracic joint and downward movement of the shoulder. The anomalous insertion of pectoralis minor beyond the coracoid process is known since the 19th century. Aim of the study: To report ...
