Nuclear Matter Spectral Functions by Transport Theory

چکیده

Quantum transport theory is used to calculate the nucleon spectral function in infinite nuclear matter. A self-consistent description is obtained by utilizing the relations between collision rates and correlation functions. Static and dynamical self-energies are taken into account in the single particle propagators. The real parts of the non-static selfenergy contributions are calculated by dispersion theory thus conserving the analyticity of momentum distributions. The transport theoretical spectral functions, momentum distributions, occupation probabilities and responce functions are in close agreement with results of variational and other many-body theoretical calculations. The results indicate that the nucleon spectral functions are determined only by the average short-range correlation strength. PACS numbers: 21.65.+f, 24.10.Cn

Range Correlations and Spectral Functions in Asymmetric Nuclear Matter

Dynamical correlations in asymmetric infinite nuclear matter are investigates in a transport theoretical approach. Self-energies due to short range correlations and their influence on the nucleon spectral functions are described in an approach accounting for a realistic treatment of mean-field dynamics and a self-consistently derived quasi-particle interaction. Landau-Migdal theory is used to d...

Nucleon Spectral Function in Nuclear Matter

The nucleon spectral function in infinite nuclear matter is calculated in a quantum transport theoretical approach. Exploiting the known relation between collision rates and correlation functions the spectral function is derived self-consistently. Off-shell pions in the BUU transport theory

Due to the large resonance πN scattering cross section a pion with momentum ∼ 0.3 GeV/c acquires a width in nuclear matter. The pion spectral function in nuclear matter is, therefore, different from the vacuum one. The present work is the first attempt to include the pion spectral function into the BUU transport theory. We have calculated the pion polarization function Πc(k) in isospin symmetri...

Nuclear matter hole spectral function in the Bethe-Brueckner-Goldstone approach

The hole spectral function is calculated in nuclear matter to assess the relevance of nucleon-nucleon short range correlations. The calculation is carried out within the Brueckner scheme of many-body theory by using several nucleon-nucleon realistic interactions. Results are compared with other approaches based on variational methods and transport theory. Discrepancies appear in the high energy...
