چکیده

The BTeV experiment is designed to study beauty and charm physics at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. Our goals are to make an exhaustive search for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) and make precise measurements of the SM parameters. The important measurements to make involve CP violation, mixing, and rare decays of hadrons containing b or c quarks. The CP violation in the SM originates from quark mixing with complex terms in the CKM matrix. The unitarity of the CKM matrix allows us to construct 6 triangles. The most commonly used triangle arises from the orthogonality of the d and b columns: V ∗ udVub + V ∗ cdVcb + V ∗ tdVtb = 0, which defines the the CKM phases α, β and γ with the constraint that α + β + γ = π. Other independent angles are χ and χ where:

The BTeV Experiment

BTeV is an approved forward collider experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron dedicated to precision studies of CP violation, mixing, and rare decays of beauty and charmed hadrons. The BTeV detector has been designed to achieve these goals. Pixel detectors cover the interaction region and vertex computation is included in the lowest level trigger.

Btev/c0 *

The physics goals and techniques of the proposed BTeV experiment at the C0 Tevatron interaction area are summarized, with emphasis on aspects of the experiment that depend on near-beam issues. BTeV aims to carry out a comprehensive study of rare processes (especially CP violation) in charm and beauty decay starting in collider Run II. Vertex detectors will be deployed within a few mm of the bea...

Future B Experiments from the Btev/lhc-b Perspective

Many measurements are necessary in the program of studying mixing, CP violation and rare decays of b and c quarks. These measurements require large numbers of B o , Bs, B − and D * + hadrons. Fortunately, copius production of particles containing b and c quarks will occur at Tevatron and the LHC. The crucial measurements are described here, as well as the design of the two experiments, LHC-b an...

Overview of the BTeV Pixel Detector

BTeV is a new Fermilab beauty and charm experiment designed to operate in the CZero region of the Tevatron collider. Critical to the success of BTeV is its pixel detector. The unique features of this pixel detector include its proximity to the beam, its operation with a beam crossing time of 132 ns, and the need for the detector information to be read out quickly enough to be used for the lowes...

BTeV is a B-physics experiment that expects to begin collecting data at the C0 interaction region of the Fermilab Tevatron in the year 2006. Its primary goal is to achieve unprecedented levels of sensitivity in the study of CP violation, mixing, and rare decays in b and c quark systems. In order to realize this, it will employ a state-of-the-art first-level vertex trigger (Level 1) that will lo...
