Path Delay Test in the Presence of Power Supply Noise, Ground Bounce and Crosstalk

چکیده
As technology scales down, the effects of power supply noise and ground bounce are becoming significantly important. In the existing literature, it has been shown that excessive power supply noise can affect the path delay, while ground bounce is either neglected or assumed similar to power supply noise [1-2]. Our work performs a detailed study of combined and uncorrelated power supply noise and ground bounce and their impact on the path delay. Our analyses show that different combination of power supply noise and ground bounce can lead to either delay speed-up or slow-down [3-6].

متن کاملDelay testing considering crosstalk-induced effects
The increased noise/interference effects, such as crosstalk, power supply noise, substrate noise and distributed delay variations lead to increased signal integrity problems in deep submicron designs. These problems can cause logic errors and/or performance degradation and need to be addressed both in the design for deep submicron and testing for deep submicron phase. Existing delay testing tec...

Crosstalk propagating through the silicon substrate is a serious limiting factor on the performance of advanced mixed analog-digital CMOS integrated circuits. This problem also appears in RF chips in the form of power leakage from local oscillators or power amplifiers, as well as noise coupled from the digital baseband circuitry. Several studies have presented measurements on simple test struct...
متن کاملLow Dropout Based Noise Minimization of Active Mode Power Gated Circuit
Power gating technique reduces leakage power in the circuit. However, power gating leads to large voltage fluctuation on the power rail during power gating mode to active mode due to the package inductance in the Printed Circuit Board. This voltage fluctuation may cause unwanted transitions in neighboring circuits. In this work, a power gating architecture is developed for minimizing power in a...
