چکیده

RESULTS: Early data acquisition was plagued by motion artifact and physiologic perturbation confounding the results. The focus of this report compares clean preand post-operative datasets in the same individual; preliminary analysis confirms improved resting state connectivity in both the visual and sensorimotor networks, both in amplitude of BOLD signal and the extent of the networks. Furthermore, the networks in general in several subjects show improved symmetry following surgery.

Abstract: Location and Time of Maximal Head Shape Change in Strip Craniectomy with Barrel Staves and Helmet Therapy by 2D and 3D Imaging for Treatment of Sagital Craniosynostosis.

PURPOSE: Neurocognitive studies in school-age children with craniosynostosis reveal lower scores compared to controls. Optimal age at surgery in craniosynostosis continues to be debated. In addition, individuals with craniosynostosis may undergo reoperation to improve residual skull irregularities. It is unknown whether reoperation affects neurocognitive outcome. This study examined impact of a...

The Long-Term Neuropsychological Outcomes in Sagittal Craniosynotosis: Limited-Strip Craniectomy Vs. Whole-Vault Cranioplasty

The “functional” morbidity in nonsyndromic craniosynostosis is not obvious. Because of this disconnect between cranial deformity and “functional” disability, cranial reconstructive surgery in patients with single-suture sagittal craniosynostosis has been regarded as a “cosmetic” intervention. However, it has been observed in a preliminary study that children with simple craniosynostosis often h...

Suday, O cber 8, 2017 CONCLUSION: Open cranial vault remodeling with fronto-orbital advancement is a safe and reproducible procedure with excellent literature to support short-term outcomes. However, little data exist to evaluate this patient population as they mature. Our study critically evaluates physical exam findings, neurocognitive development, and anthropometric assessments in this patie...

Distraction Osteogenesis Technique for the Treatment of Nonsyndromic Sagittal Synostosis

BACKGROUND Historically, surgical treatment of children with a delayed presentation of cranial synostosis required complex cranial vault reconstruction. Recently, less invasive options for surgical correction, such as internal distraction osteogenesis, have been explored. In this study, we describe the successful management of delayed presentation of sagittal synostosis using distraction osteog...
