Novel Compact, Dual Frequency FSS Design using Patch with Annular Rectangular Slots

In this paper, a complete design and analysis of the frequency selective property of an array of patches with annular rectangular slots is presented. It is observed that there is a tremendous decrease in resonance frequency as the annular rectangular slot is made on the patch and it is also seen that, with the incorporation of another annular rectangular slot, FSS is resonant at dual frequencies. The design is realized both by simulation and measurement. The results are presented and evaluated. Theoretical investigation is done by using ANSOFT software. Experimental investigations are done using standard microwave test bench. The size reduction obtained is 95 %.
