چکیده

Two-dimensional echocardiography revealed cardiac tumors in the fetus of a mother with tuberous sclerosis. After birth, six cardiac tumors were demonstrated by two-dimensional echocardiography. Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography was performed, which demonstrated good cardiac wall motility. Data set analysis revealed a 7 tumor adjacent to the aortic valve: normal aortic valve movements and the absence of aortic outflow obstructions were demonstrated. These findings convinced us to adopt a watch-and-wait strategy. The cardiac tumors had regressed in size at 1 year of age. Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography may be useful in the assessment of neonatal cardiac tumors. (

Normal pulsed wave Doppler echocardiographic parameters of Turkmen horses of Iran

Turkmen horse is one of the oldest and purest breeds in the world, but there is no information on Doppler echocardiographic parameters in this horse. In the present study, pulsed-wave (PW) Doppler echocardiography was performed on 42 clinically normal 3- to 15-year-old racing Turkmen horses. No cardiac disease was detected with two-dimensional (2-D) real-time, M-mode, and colour flow mapping. D...

Utility of real‐time three‐dimensional echocardiography in improved assessment of a mitral valve papillary fibroelastoma

Primary cardiac tumors are exceedingly rare. They are usually first identified by transthoracic echocardiography. However, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), with the aid of real-time three-dimensional (3D) imaging, can provide additional important mass characteristics. We present a case that demonstrates the usefulness of 3D TEE in characterizing a papillary fibroelastoma.

Dynamic three-dimensional echocardiography with a computed tomography imaging probe: initial clinical experience with transthoracic application in infants and children with congenital heart defects.

OBJECTIVE To assess the clinical applicability of a prototype computed tomographic echocardiographic imaging probe in paediatric patients with congenital heart disease. DESIGN A phased array echocardiographic transducer (64 elements, 5 MHz) mounted on a sliding carriage was used transthoracically in various positions on the chest. The transducer moves from the outflow tract to the apex of the...

Automated left heart chamber volumetric assessment using three-dimensional echocardiography in Chinese adolescents

BACKGROUND Several studies have reported the accuracy and reproducibility of HeartModel for automated determination of three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE)-derived left heart volumes and left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (LVEF) in adult patients. However, it remains unclear whether this automated adaptive analytics algorithm, derived from a 'training' population, can encompass adequat...

Real-time, two-dimensional echocardiographic features of pacemaker perforation.

Five patients (four adults and one child) with clinically suspected myocardial perforation by temporary transvenous pacemakers were studied by real-time, two-dimensional echocardiography. In three patients, the catheters were visualized passing through the right ventricular apical wall with the tip located outside the cardiac border. In one patient the catheter perforated the atrioventricular s...
