Immediate Implantation in Maxillary Molar Sites: A Literature Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Context: For many years, the standard protocol for implant placement was the delayed method which is to wait until the bone is matured after tooth extraction. Evidence Acquisition: The increasing demand for shorter rehabilitation times have led to the introduction of immediate implant placement. Although this method offers many advantages like minimal number of surgical procedures, less morbidity and shorter rehabilitation time, it is associated with some complications such as complicated extractions, localized bone defects surrounding the implant, and improper implant position because of the socket anatomy. Results: Immediate implants were most frequently used for incisor and premolar sites and there is very little data available on immediate implantation in the molar area. In this research, we reviewed all the existing papers on immediate implantation of maxillary molars with special focus on success and survival rate. The success and survival rate of immediate implantation into fresh extraction socket of maxillary molars was more than 90%, which was similar to conventional type delayed implants. Conclusions: It was observed that the success and survival rate of maxillary molar immediate implant was relatively high and similar to those of conventional delayed implants.

Bone-Borne Maxillary Expansion and Traditional Rapid Maxillary Expansion: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Introduction: The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the effect of bone-borne expansion (BBE) and tooth-borne expansion (TBE) in patients with maxillary constriction. Methods: Electronic databases, including MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, were searched up to February 2019. Elig...
متن کاملCase Report: Permanent Maxillary First Molar with Two Roots and Two Canals: A Rare Case Report
Abstract: Human maxillary first molars are usually considered as three-rooted teeth with four root canals for the presence of a second canal in the Mesio Buccal root (MB2). In addition, lateral ramifications and apical delta of the root canal system may frequently occur, increasing the probability of leaving untreated spaces after the root canal therapy. A thorough knowledge of root canal mor...

PURPOSE To evaluate whether the combination of 5 surgical techniques in implant dentistry could be performed simultaneously in a predictable manner as effectively as each technique separately. MATERIALS AND METHODS Immediately postextraction, 12 wide-diameter (WD) implants were placed in maxillary first or second molar sites. The residual vertical bone height ranged between 6 and 9 mm (averag...

متن کاملMaxillary Implant-Supported Over-Denture, Role of Attachment Selection on Treatment Success Rate: A Literature Review
Objectives Maxillary implant-supported over-denture is a suitable treatment where conventional denture cannot be used. Few studies are available on maxillary over-denture while more are available on mandibular over-denture with no literature referring to attachment selection in maxillary over-dentures. The objective of this literature review was to see attachment selection strategies in maxill...
