چکیده

When interactively modifying or automatically animating the source frequency, the displayed propagating mode is by default the highest order mode. This is very usefull to intuitively understand the order of succession of the cutoo frequencies of the various modes. When taking a very rectangular waveguide { e.g. with a high a=b ratio { (see Fig. 3), it becomes evident, that the cutoo frequencies of mode m; 0 are proportional to m, and that the cutoo frequencies of mode 0; n are proportional to n. Once increasing the source frequency one immediately understands that mode 0; 1 appears after mode m; 0 as soon as the \wave width" of mode m+1; 0 is greater than b. This is an intuitive understanding of the fact that the cutoo frequencies of modes m; 0 are proportional to m=a and that the cutoo frequencies of mode 0; n are proportional to n=b (See (1)). For example, in Fig. 3 cutoo frequency of mode 0; 1 is higher than cutoo frequency of mode 4; 0 and lower than cutoo frequency of mode 5; 0 for an a=b ratio of 4:4 B. Coordinate system for circular waveguides Since the eld topology in circular waveguides is determined using polar coordinates, these topologies are always represented using the (; ') coordinate system. However, such a system { although very usefull for calculations { is absolutely not intuitive, as shown on Fig. 4. Looking at Fig. 4.a and Fig. 4.b one rst expects a sin-gularity at the wave guide center. However, after deeply analyzing these results, one may nally understand that there is no singularity at all, that the eld is vertical at the waveguide origin, and that the discontinuity is simply due to the polar coordinate system. On the other hand, Fig. 4.c and Fig. 4.d show the horizontal and vertical eld components, which may be immediately and correctly interpreted. The Study of Education Based on Animation in Patient’s Performance under Hemodialysis in Emergency Evacuation Selected Hospitals of Aja

Introduction: A disaster evacuation program is one of the most important parts of hospital crisis management. The following study was carried out to determine the effects of animation-based teaching on hemodialysis patients’ performance in an emergency evacuation. Material and Method: In this quasi-experimental study, two out of four AJA Hospitals in Tehran that had hemodialysis wards, were sel...

Developing EFL Learners' Oral Proficiency through Animation-based Instruction of English Formulaic Sequences

The current pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study attempts, firstly, to probe the effects of teaching formulaic sequences (FSs) on the second or foreign language (L2)  learners' oral proficiency improvement and secondly, to examine whether teaching FSs through different resources (i.e. animation vs. text-based readings) have any differentially influential effects in augmenting L2  l...

Psychological reactions in the (I.C.U.) Department of Animation

The Psycho-reactive problems affecting patients, relatives and staff in the intensive care unit are discussed in this article. These problems are usually due to the admitting disease itself, ( obvious anxiety of the patient who has just had a coronary infarction agitation of the patient with incipient respiratory failure) or psycho-reactive problems arising directly from the I.C.U. environme...

Encoding apparent motion in animated mimic displays.

Animated mimic displays represent system components, the physical connections between components, and the analogical flow of information or resources. These displays have the potential to improve the effectiveness of both training and real-time performance. One animation technique that is particularly efficient (from a computational perspective) is color table animation, which produces a subjec...

Enhancing Learning Experience with Dynamic Animation

This paper reports on the use of dynamic animation to enhance learning and interest for a senior level course on system analysis. This course includes analytic methods from both frequency and time domains with emphasis on real world problems. Ansim, the freely available Mathworks animation toolbox, was chosen because it works seamlessly with Matlab/Simulink, a required software for the EE under...

Interpolation and extrapolation of motion capture data

The author proposes a computer-graphic animation tool through which the relationship between human motions and subjective impressions can be quantitatively examined. In the system, the three-dimensional human motion was measured with a wireless magnetic motion capture system with a pair of data gloves. The time-series changes of each joint angle were estimated through the measured data, using a...
