A flow waveform adaptive mechanical glottal model

چکیده

A waveform adaptive physical model of the glottal source is proposed. The model relies on a lumped mechano aerodynamic schema loosely inspired to the oneand two-mass lumped models. The vocal folds are represented by a single mechanical resonator and a propagation line which takes into account the vertical phase differences. The vocal folds displacement is coupled to the glottal flow by means of an aerodynamic driving block which includes a general parametric nonlinear component. The principal characteristics of the flow-induced oscillations are retained, and the overall model is able to adapt to glottal flow signals with different characteristics.

Voice source analysis using biomechanical modeling and glottal inverse filtering

This paper studies the use of glottal inverse filtering together with a biomechanical model of the vocal folds to simulate the glottal flow waveform. The glottal flow waveform is first estimated by inverse filtering the acoustic speech pressure signal of natural speech. The estimated glottal flow is used as a template in an optimization process which searches for a set of parameters for a deter...

Glottal Source Estimation from Coded Telephone Speech Using a Deep Neural Network

In speech analysis, the information about the glottal source is obtained from speech by using glottal inverse filtering (GIF). The accuracy of state-of-the-art GIF methods is sufficiently high when the input speech signal is of high-quality (i.e., with little noise or reverberation). However, in realistic conditions, particularly when GIF is computed from coded telephone speech, the accuracy of...

Steady Flow Through Modeled Glottal Constriction

The airflow in the modeled glottal constriction was simulated by the solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations for laminar flow, and the corresponding Reynolds equations for turbulent flow in generalized, nonorthogonal coordinates using a numerical method. A two-dimensional model of laryngeal flow is considered and aerodynamic properties are calculated for both laminar and turbulent steady flows...

On the Use of a Spectral Glottal Model for the Source-filter Separation of Speech

The estimation of glottal flow from a speech waveform is a key method for speech analysis and parameterization. Significant research effort has been made to dissociate the first vocal tract resonance from the glottal formant (the low-frequency resonance describing the open-phase of the vocal fold vibration). However few methods cope with estimation of high-frequency spectral tilt to describe th...

Glottal Waveforms for Speaker Inference & A Regression Score Post-Processing Method Applicable to General Classification Problems

Contributions are made along two main lines. Firstly a method is proposed for using a regression model to learn relationships within the scores of a machine learning classifier, which can then be applied to future classifier output for the purpose of improving recognition accuracy. The method is termed r-norm and strong empirical results are obtained from its application to several text-indepen...
