PIE: A Dynamic Failure-Based Technique
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a dynamic technique for statistically estimating three program characteristics that aect a program's computational behavior: (1) the probability that a particular section of a program is executed, (2) the probability that the particular section aects the data state, and (3) the probability that a data state produced by that section has an eect on program output. These three characteristics can be used to predict whether faults are likely to be uncovered by software testing.

Partial Automation of Sensitivity Analysis by Mutant Schemata Approach
According to Voas et al. testability is defined as the ease with in which faults may manifest themselves as failures when the software undergoes the testing process [39]. They also went further by introducing an approach for measuring sensitivity in terms of estimates from Propagation, Infection, and Execution (PIE) analyses of software and calculating the testability of a program through sensi...
متن کاملInvestigating the Partial Relationships Between Testability and the Dynamic Range-to-Domain Ratio
The word ‘testability’ has been used variously in the software community to represent a number of different concepts such as how easy it is to test a program or how easy it is to achieve execution coverage of certain program components. Voas and colleagues have used the word to capture a slightly different notion, namely the ease with which faults, if present in a program, can be revealed by th...
متن کاملMultidimensional Separation Using HILIC and SCX Pre-fractionation for RP LC-MS/MS Platform with Automated Exclusion List-based MS Data Acquisition with Increased Protein Quantification
Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) based proteomics is one of the most widely used analytical platforms for global protein discovery and quantification. One of the challenges is the difficulty of identifying low abundance biomarker proteins from limited biological samples. Extensive fractionation could expand proteomics dynamic range, however, at the cost of high sample and time co...
متن کاملNonuniform sampling of image-based rendering data with the position-interval-error (PIE) function
In this paper we study the non-uniform sampling problem for image-based rendering (IBR). We first propose a general position-interval error (PIE) function that can help solve practical sampling problems. We then propose two approaches to capturing IBR data non-uniformly based on PIE, namely progressive capturing (PCAP) and rearranged capturing (RCAP). PCAP is applicable for static scenes. Based...
متن کاملNeuro-Fuzzy Based Algorithm for Online Dynamic Voltage Stability Status Prediction Using Wide-Area Phasor Measurements
In this paper, a novel neuro-fuzzy based method combined with a feature selection technique is proposed for online dynamic voltage stability status prediction of power system. This technique uses synchronized phasors measured by phasor measurement units (PMUs) in a wide-area measurement system. In order to minimize the number of neuro-fuzzy inputs, training time and complication of neuro-fuzzy ...
