Programming with object groups in CORBA
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Object Group Service (OGS) extends CORBA with the ability to gather several objects inside a group and to transparently handle the group membership and the consistent invocations of the group members. OGS does not require any change to the CORBA specification: it is portable on any CORBA 2.0 ORB and does not rely on ORB vendorspecific features. We present the OGS programming model and we discuss various levels of group transparency and their impact on invocation overheads.

A model for parallel programming over CORBA
Existing models for parallel programming over Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) do not address issues specific to parallel programming over a Network of Workstations (NOWs). This paper presents P-CORBA, a model for parallel programming over CORBA that addresses these issues. Transmission and distribution of computing power of a NOW is facilitated by P-CORBA. The main contributio...
متن کاملObject Interconnections Developing C + + Servant Classes Using the Portable Object Adapter ( Column 13 )
This is the third column in our series explaining the new OMG Portable Object Adapter. An Object Adapter is the CORBA component responsible for adapting CORBA’s concept of objects to a programming language’s concept of servants. As you’ll recall from previous columns [1, 2], CORBA objects are “abstract” entities defined by IDL interfaces. Likewise, servants are “concrete” implementations of COR...

متن کاملAn Adaptive Model for Programming Distributed Real-Time Applications in CORBA
CORBA is a middleware with open standardization that is receiving plenty of acceptance for facilitating the distributed objects programming. CORBA is being extended through the specification of interfaces and necessary abstractions for supporting applications with real-time constraints. The use of CORBA in the contemporary real-time systems is adequate to meet the new requirements of flexibilit...
