چکیده
A total of 200 faecal samples, received between January and December 2004 from patients with acute diarrhoea, were of patients with acute brucellosis (69 families) who were referred to Boo-Ali Hospital (Southeast Iran) were enrolled in this study and serologically screened for brucellosis using the standard agglutination test (SAT). Titer of 160 or more was considered positive and diagnostic Titer of more than 160 in conjunction with compatible clinical presentation was considered to be highly suggestive of acute infection. Also, titer more than 160 in conjunction with 2 mercapto ethanol test >160 in asymptomatic group, were considered to be acute infection.

متن کاملPhage types of Vibrio cholerae O1 and O139 in the past decade in India.
Cholera has been a prevalent disease worldwide since the early 19th century. Vibrio cholerae O1 and O139 are the two serogroups that have been mainly implicated in causing cholera. This study reports the results of biotyping, serotyping and phage typing of V. cholerae O1 and O139 (1998-2007) strains received from different parts of India for the identification of the trends in the occurrence an...
متن کاملDevelopment and evaluation of a phage typing scheme for Vibrio cholerae O139.
The scenario of cholera that existed previously changed in 1992 and 1993 with the emergence of toxigenic Vibrio cholerae O139 in India. The genesis of the new serogroup formed the impetus to search for O139 phages in and around the country. A total of five newly isolated phages lytic to V. cholerae O139 strains were used for the development of this phage typing scheme. These phages differed fro...
