The BABAR Collaboration

چکیده
A preliminary study of time dependence of BB oscillations using dilepton events is presented. The avor of the B meson is determined by the charge sign of the lepton. To separate signal leptons from cascade and fake leptons we have used a method which combines several discriminating variables in a neural network. The time evolution of the oscillations is studied by reconstructing the time di erence between the decays of the B mesons produced by the (4S) decay. With an integrated luminosity of 7.7 fb 1 collected on resonance by BABAR at the PEP-II asymmetric B Factory, we measure the di erence in mass of the neutral B eigenstates, mB0 , to be (0:507 0:015 0:022) 10 h s . The SLAC B Factory was approved by President Clinton in October 1993. The inaugural meeting of the detector collaboration was held at SLAC in December 1993, at which time the 9 nation BaBar collaboration began. First funding for the machine construction was released in January 1994, launching the SLAC/LBNL/LLNL PEP-II project collaboration [1]. The detector technical design report was completed...

The surprising discovery by the BABAR Collaboration of a narrow state with a mass of 2317 MeV decaying to Dsπ has been followed by other spectroscopic revelations. We focus on the BABAR results for the second state, at 2458 MeV, but mention related work from other experiments.

متن کاملComment on “ Study of D sJ decays to D ∗ K in inclusive e + e − interactions ”
We comment on the recent observation of the decay mode D sJ (2860) → DK by the BABAR Collaboration [B. Aubert et al. (BABAR Collaboration), arXiv:0908.0806], and contest their peremptory conclusion that the data exclude a 0 assignment for the D sJ (2860). In particular, we argue that the observed branching fraction B(D sJ (2860) → DK)/B(D sJ (2860) → DK) = 1.1 ± 0.15 ± 0.19 supports the existen...
متن کاملCharm Physics at BABAR
Large production of the cc pairs and high integrated luminosity make the PEP-II B Factory an excellent place for studying the charm hadrons. In this paper, we present a few of the most recent results from the BABAR collaboration in the charm sector.
