چکیده
Storage Management continues to play a key role in providing a complete solution to todays most challenging computational problems. This paper describes the current market trends and customer requirements driving Cray’s continued commitment to providing an integrated storage management solution. Product directions for the areas of network backup, archive and hierarchical storage management (HSM) will be described.

Automatic Parallelization: A Comparison of CRAY fpp and KAI KAP/CRAY
In this report we examine two existing commercial parallelizing code restructurers: the CRAY Autotasking2 facility and Kuck and Associates' KAP/CRAY. In particular we measure their ability to vectorize and parallelize 25 scientific benchmarks for a CRAY Y-MP supercomputer. We measure the overall code performance, the speedup gained by parallelizing codes with these products, and the overhead us...
متن کاملThe Cray Research CRAFT-90 Programming Model
In their current Fortran product CF77TM, Cray Research, Inc. has defined a Fortran based programming model for the Cray T3DTM system that allows programmers to specify both data sharing and work sharing. Analysis of this programming model identifies key language features to be retained and others that should be eliminated. Because future Fortran programming directions are based on CF90TM, this ...

Portable Standard LISP (PSL) is a portable implementation of the programming language LISP constructed at the University of Utah. The version 3.4 of PSL was implemented for Cray X-MP computers by KonradZuse-Zentrum Berlin; this implementation is based to an important part on the earlier implementation of PSL 3.2 at the University of Utah, Los Alamos National Laboratories and Cray Research Inc. ...
متن کاملFFTs in External or Hierarchical
Conventional algorithms for computing large one-dimensional fast Fourier transforms (FFTs), even those algorithms recently developed for vector and parallel computers, are largely unsuitable for systems with external or hierarchical memory. The principal reason for this is the fact that most FFT algorithms require at least m complete passes through the data set to compute a 2 m-point FFT. This ...
