چکیده

We extend the quantum theory of dissipation in the context of system-reservoir model, where the reservoir in question is kept in a nonequilibrium condition. Based on a systematic separation of time scales involved in the dynamics, appropriate generalizations of the fluctuationdissipation and Einstein’s relations have been pointed out. We show that the Wigner-Weisskopf decay of the system mode results in a rate constant which depending on the relaxation of nonequilibrium bath is dynamically modified. We also calculate the timedependent spectra of a cavity mode with a suitable gain when the cavity is kept in contact with a nonequilibrium bath. PACS No. : 32.80. -t, 42.65. An, 05.20 Dd, 05.40 +j. Decoherence and dissipation of a quantum harmonic oscillator coupled to two-level systems

We derive and analyze the Born-Markov master equation for a quantum harmonic oscillator interacting with a bath of independent two-level systems. This hitherto virtually unexplored model plays a fundamental role as one of the four “canonical” system-environment models for decoherence and dissipation. To investigate the influence of further couplings of the environmental spins to a dissipative b...

The Harmonic Oscillator with Dissipation within the Theory of Open Quantum Systems

Time evolution of the expectation values of various dynamical operators of the harmonic oscillator with dissipation is analitically obtained within the framework of the Lindblad theory for open quantum systems. We deduce the density matrix of the damped harmonic oscillator from the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation for the coherent state representation, obtained from the master equation fo...

Wigner Distribution Function and Entropy of the Damped Harmonic Oscillator within the Theory of Open Quantum Systems

The harmonic oscillator with dissipation is studied within the framework of the Lindblad theory for open quantum systems. By using the Wang-Uhlenbeck method, the Fokker-Planck equation, obtained from the master equation for the density operator, is solved for the Wigner distribution function, subject to either the Gaussian type or the δ-function type of initial conditions. The obtained Wigner f...

Quantum control of dissipative systems: Exact solutions

Optimal quantum control theory, which predicts the tailored light fields that best drive a system to a desired target, is applied to the quantum dissipative dynamics of systems linearly coupled to a Gaussian bath. To calculate the material response function required for optimizing the light field, the analytical solution is derived for the two-level Brownian harmonic oscillator model and the re...
