چکیده

The Chevrel type chalcogenide with the stoichiometry Mo6.,M,Xs (M=transition metal, e.g., M,=Ru2; X=Chalcogene atom, e.g., S, Se) containing octahedral mixed-metal clusters of transition-metal atoms was investigated with respect to the oxygen reduction process in an in situ electrochemical enviroment via the EXAFS technique. The spectra analysis on Ru and MO edges as a function of applied electrode potential revealed that ruthenium centers were preferentially modified by the presence of oxygen in the electrolyte. The variation in distance between Ru-(Ru, MO) was more sensitive in oxygen saturated solution as compared to MO-(Ru, MO) and Ru-Se.

Tracking Catalyst Redox States and Reaction Dynamics in Ni-Fe Oxyhydroxide Oxygen Evolution Reaction Electrocatalysts: The Role of Catalyst Support and Electrolyte pH.

Ni-Fe oxyhydroxides are the most active known electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline electrolytes and are therefore of great scientific and technological importance in the context of electrochemical energy conversion. Here we uncover, investigate, and discuss previously unaddressed effects of conductive supports and the electrolyte pH on the Ni-Fe(OOH) catalyst red...

Synthesis and Metal Ion Uptake Studies of Silica Gel-Immobilized Schiff Base Derivatives and Catalytic Behaviors of their Cu(II) Complexes

New silica supported Schiff base ligands were prepared by the condensation reaction of 4,6-diacetylresorcinol with silica-gel derivatives, which modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and N-(2-aminoethyl) -3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane. Metal ion uptake capacities of these compounds were studied towards of selected transition metal (Cd(II), Cu(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Pb(II) and Ni(II)) cations...

A comparative study between transition-metal-substituted Keggin-type tungstosilicates supported on anatase leaf as catalyst for synthesis of symmetrical disulfides

Transition-metal-substituted  (TMS)  polyoxometalates  of  the  general  formula  [SiW9M3O39], (where M = first row transition metal), has been synthesized and supported on anatase by sol–gel method under oil-bath condition. The tetrabutylammonium (TBA) salts of the Keggin-type polyoxotungstates  [SiW9M3O39],  (M = VII, CrII, MnII,  FeII CoII  and NiII),  proved  to  be  green, reusable,  and  ...

Tailoring the Energy Band Gap of Transition Metal Doped TiO2 Thin Film

Water splitting for hydrogen production under sunlight using TiO2 as photo catalyst provides a better route for solar energy and attracts the attention of many researchers. The photo catalytic activity of TiO2 under sunlight irradiation depends on the band gap energy. The transition metal doped TiO2 shows an edge over TiO2 in optical absorbance and photo catalytic activity. Thin film of Cr dope...

Introducing Pt/ZnO as a new non carbon substrate electro catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction at low temperature acidic fuel cells

Gas diffusion electrode was used for providing better conditions in fuel cell systems for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Because the slow kinetics of the oxygen reduction reaction at the proton exchange membrane fuel cell cathode restricts fuel cell efficiency. To this end, researchers have used platinum-coated carbon. In the present study, due to the reduction of carbon corrosion, Zinc oxide...
