چکیده

We introduce RF nanoreceivers based on carbon nanotube (CNT) antennas. CNT-based nanoreceivers have been shown to operate in tens to hundreds of MHz range both in theory and practice. We show that a low cost combination of these receivers lead to linear increase in achieved data rate via ONOFF Keying (OOK). Due to extremely small scale of the CNTs, many hundreds of thousands of these receivers can be packed into very small areas to achieve rates comparable to the commercially available wireless receivers. We show that, with a 1mm forest of CNT antennas, separated by 100nm, our nanoreceiver achieves a rate of 1Mbps at an SNR of 6dB at a bit error rate of 10. Hence, a significant spatial miniaturization is achieved by our nanoreceiver compared to a classical RF receiver without a loss in the achievable rate.

Design and analysis of systems based on RF receivers with multiple carbon nanotube antennas

In this paper, possible uses of systems composed of multiple CNT-based EM receivers are introduced and their communication-theoretical analysis developed. Four possible example applications that involve multiple CNTs are discussed and their system-level design is emphasized. Then, a communication-theoretical analysis of the performance of a generic system that involves multiple CNT-based RF rec...

Characterization of high performance CNT-based TSV for high-frequency RF applications

In this paper, we present modeling and characterization of CNT-based TSVs to be used in high-frequency RF applications. We have developed an integrated model of CNT-based TSVs by incorporating the quantum confinement effects of CNTs with the kinetic inductance phenomenon at high frequencies. Substrate parasitics have been appropriately modeled as a monolithic microwave capacitor with the resona...

ارزیابی پرتوگیری مردم از آنتن‌های ایستگاه‌های تلفن همراه در کشور

Fast growth of the number of mobile phone subscribers in Iran, over the last few years, is the reason for construction of more and more base stations (BTS) especially in residential areas. As the BTS antennas emit radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic energy, so it is the main concern of general public about their health and safety. The aim of this research work is to assess public exposure...

nano - OPID

Here we report experimental results for a carbon nanotube (CNT) based amplitude-modulated (AM) demodulator for modulation frequencies up to 100 kHz. Further, the CNT based demodulator was successfully demonstrated in an actual AM radio receiver operating at a carrier frequency of 1 GHz and capable of demodulating high-fidelity audio. The demodulation originates from the nonlinear current−voltag...

Active Loops, Active Voltage Probe and Wire Antennas; A Statistical Review of the Performance of Six Antennas (Part I)

For the last 18 months the author has been involved with Pixel Technologies in developing and producing the high-gain low-noise preamp used with the company’s series of shielded magnetic loop antennas. Recently Pixel asked me to perform a series of comparative tests on the latest version of their loop antenna (Model RF PRO-1B) to determine how it performs relative to other loop antennas and oth...
