چکیده

In extracting three-dimensional positional information from images, both static stereo processing and monocular structure-from-motion processing possess shortcomings for a general purpose vision system. A solution to these problems is to use stereo structurefrom-motion processing. This paper addresses the problems of integrating stereo and structure-frommotion data to determine the camera ego-motion and the locations of features by Kalman filtering. Results from monocular and stereo structure-from-motion algorithms are presented.

3D Hand Motion Evaluation Using HMM

Gesture and motion recognition are needed for a variety of applications. The use of human hand motions as a natural interface tool has motivated researchers to conduct research in the modeling, analysis and recognition of various hand movements. In particular, human-computer intelligent interaction has been a focus of research in vision-based gesture recognition. In this work, we introduce a 3-...

An Integration Algorithm for Stereo, Motion and Color in Real-Time Applications

what: color, motlon what, where? where: depth and reglon This paper describes a statistical integration algorithm for color, motion and stereo disparity, and introduces a realtime stereo system that can tell us where and what objects are moving. Regarding the integration algorithm, motion estimation and depth estimation are simultaneously performed by a clustering process based on motion, stere...

Motion - Stereo Integration for Depth Estimation

Depth extraction with a mobile stereo system is described. The stereo setup is precalibrated, but the system extracts its own motion. Emphasis lies on the integration of the motion and stereo cues. It is guided by the relative confidence that the system has in these cues. This weighing is fine-grained in that it is determined for every pixel at every iteration. Reliable information spreads fast...

A Physiological Model for Motion - stereo Integration and aUni

Many psychophysical and physiological experiments indicate that visual motion analysis and stereoscopic depth perception are processed together in the brain. However, little computational e ort has been devoted to combining these two visual modalities into a common framework based on physiological mechanisms. We present such an integrated model in this paper. We have previously developed a phys...

Reversed stereo depth and motion direction with anti-correlated stimuli

We used anti-correlated stimuli to compare the correspondence problem in stereo and motion. Subjects performed a two-interval forced-choice disparity/motion direction discrimination task for different displacements. For anti-correlated 1d band-pass noise, we found weak reversed depth and motion. With 2d anti-correlated stimuli, stereo performance was impaired, but the perception of reversed mot...
