Charge Ordered Insulator without Magnetic Order Studied by Correlator Projection Method

چکیده
The Hubbard model with additional intersite interaction ‘V ’ ( the extended Hubbard model) is investigated by the correlator projection method (CPM). CPM is a newly developed numerical method which combines the equation-of-motion approach and the dynamical mean-field theory. Using this method, properties of the extended Hubbard Model at quarter filling are discussed with special emphasis on the metal-insulator transition induced by electron-electron correlations. The result shows a metal-insulator transition to a charge ordered insulator with antiferromagnetic order at low temperatures, but a charge ordered insulator without magnetic symmetry breaking at intermediate temperatures. Here, the magnetic order is found to be suppressed to low temperatures because of the smallness of the exchange coupling Jeff . The present results are in sharp contrast with the Hatree-Fock approximation whereas in agreement with the experimental results on quarter-filled materials with strong correlations, such as organic conductors.

Fate of Quasiparticle at Mott Transition and Interplay with Lifshitz Transition Studied by Correlator Projection Method
Filling-control metal-insulator transition on the two-dimensional Hubbard model is investigated by using the correlator projection method, which takes into account momentum dependence of the free energy beyond the dynamical mean-field theory. The phase diagram of metals and Mott insulators is analyzed. Lifshitz transitions occur simultaneously with metal-insulator transitions at large Coulomb r...

Nd0.8Na0.2MnO3 polycrystalline ceramic is prepared by sol–gel method and its magnetic properties, electron spin resonance spectra and electronic transport properties have been investigated experimentally. Above 155K, the compound is a paramagnetic insulator. As the compound is cooled from room temperature, a charge-ordered state first develops below 155K. Above 110K, the resistivity data follow...
متن کاملPure electronic metal-insulator transition at the interface of complex oxides
In complex materials observed electronic phases and transitions between them often involve coupling between many degrees of freedom whose entanglement convolutes understanding of the instigating mechanism. Metal-insulator transitions are one such problem where coupling to the structural, orbital, charge, and magnetic order parameters frequently obscures the underlying physics. Here, we demonstr...
متن کاملCompetition between the charge ordered and ferromagnetic states in (La,Nd)0.75Na0.25MnO3 manganites
Structural, magnetic, and transport properties of (La1−xNdx )0.75Na0.25MnO3 (0 x 1) are studied. The system exhibits a rhombohedrally distorted perovskite structure for x 0.2 and it convert to an orthorhombic structure for x 0.4. Re-entrant ferromagnetic type charge ordering transitions are observed in the narrow bandwidth samples (x 0.6), while charge ordering transition is not observed for th...
متن کاملModel Realization and Numerical Studies of a Three-Dimensional Bosonic Topological Insulator and Symmetry-Enriched Topological Phases
We study a topological phase of interacting bosons in (3þ 1) dimensions that is protected by charge conservation and time-reversal symmetry. We present an explicit lattice model that realizes this phase and that can be studied in sign-free Monte Carlo simulations. The idea behind our model is to bind bosons to topological defects called hedgehogs. We determine the phase diagram of the model and...
