The Brede database: a small database for functional neuroimaging
نویسنده
چکیده
Data The database is inspired by the hierarchical structure of BrainMap [1] with scientific articles (“bib” structures) on the highest level containing one or more experiments (“exp” structure”, corresponding to a contrast in general linear model analyses), these in turn comprising one or more locations (“loc” structures). The information on the “bib” level (author, title, ...) is setup automatically from PubMed while the rest of the information is entered manually in a Matlab graphical user interface. On the “loc” level this includes the 3D stereotactic coordinates in either Talairach or MNI space, the brain area (functional, anatomical or cytoarchitectonic area) and magnitude values such as Z-score and P-value. On the “exp” level information such as modality, scanner and behavioral domain are recorded with “external components” (such as “face recognition” or “kinetic boundaries”) organized in a directed graph and marked up with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) where possible.

Workflows for visualizing data mining results
I reviewmethods and tools for visualizations in neuroimaging as well as point to some of the problems with interpreting such visualizations. I furthermore describe Internet-based visualization and information visualization. I focus on workflows associated with the Brede Toolbox for display of data mining results. A few neuroinformatics databases now exist that record results from neuroimaging s...
متن کاملVisualizing Data Mining Results with the Brede Tools
A few neuroinformatics databases now exist that record results from neuroimaging studies in the form of brain coordinates in stereotaxic space. The Brede Toolbox was originally developed to extract, analyze and visualize data from one of them - the BrainMap database. Since then the Brede Toolbox has expanded and now includes its own database with coordinates along with ontologies for brain regi...
متن کاملIranian Brain Imaging Database: A Neuropsychiatric Database of Healthy Brain
Introduction: The Iranian Brain Imaging Database (IBID) was initiated in 2017, with 5 major goals: provide researchers easy access to a neuroimaging database, provide normative quantitative measures of the brain for clinical research purposes, study the aging profile of the brain, examine the association of brain structure and function, and join the ENIGMA consortium. Many prestigious databases...
متن کاملCoordinate-based Meta-analytic Search for the Spm Neuroimaging
Large amounts of neuroimaging studies are collected and have changed our view on human brain function. By integrating multiple studies in meta-analysis a more complete picture is emerging. Brain locations are usually reported as coordinates with reference to a specific brain atlas, thus some of the databases offer socalled coordinate-based searching to the users (e.g. Brede, BrainMap). For such...
