چکیده
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODSdThe current study was conducted using the computerized database of the Sharon-Shomron District of Clalit Health Services in Israel. Included in the study were subjects 65 years of age and above with new-onset DM. The primary outcome measures were all-cause mortality and coronary revascularization procedures with either percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting.

New-Onset Diabetes in Elderly Subjects
OBJECTIVE New-onset diabetes mellitus (DM) in elderly patients is associated with increased risk of diabetes complications and mortality. It is unknown whether glycemic control in this population influences the mortality risk. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS The current study was conducted using the computerized database of the Sharon-Shomron District of Clalit Health Services in Israel. Included...
متن کاملComparison of Age of Onset and Frequency of Diabetic Complications in the Very Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
BACKGROUND The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in elderly people has increased dramatically in the last few decades. This study was designed to clarify the clinical characteristics of type 2 diabetes in patients aged ≥80 years according to age of onset. METHODS We reviewed the medical records of 289 patients aged ≥80 years with type 2 diabetes at the outpatient diabetes clinics of Kangwon Natio...
متن کاملAssociation Between Glycosylated Hemoglobin Level and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Diabetic Patients After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a critical measure of glycemic control, which may be a reliable predictor of complications after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the association between HbA1c levels and clinical outcomes in diabetic patients after PCI.Pubmed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases (dated to December 2015) were scree...
متن کاملLow and exacerbated levels of 1,5-anhydroglucitol are associated with cardiovascular events in patients after first-time elective percutaneous coronary intervention
BACKGROUND Postprandial hyperglycemia plays an important role in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease and cardiovascular events. Serum 1,5-anhydroglucitol (1,5-AG) levels are known to be a clinical marker of postprandial hyperglycemia. However, the impact of 1,5-AG level on cardiovascular events has not been fully investigated. METHODS We enrolled 240 consecutive patients who had under...
متن کاملGlycemic Control Status After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Long-Term Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
BACKGROUND Data on the association between glycemic control after percutaneous coronary intervention and clinical outcomes are limited and controversial in diabetic patients. METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 980 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention using drug-eluting stents. Based on 2-year glycosylated hemoglobin A (HbA1c) levels, we divided pati...
