چکیده

The ferromagnetic q-state Potts model on three-dimensional lattices: a study for real values of q Abstract We study the phase diagram of the ferromagnetic q-state Potts model on the various three-dimensional lattices for integer and non-integer values of q > 1. Our approach is based on a thermodynamically self-consistent Ornstein-Zernike approximation for the two-point correlation functions. We calculate the transition temperatures and, when the transition is first order, the jump discontinuities in the magnetization and the internal energy, as well as the coordinates of the critical endpoint in external field. Our predictions are in very good agreement with best available estimates. From the numerical study of the region of weak first-order transition, we estimate the critical value q c for which the transition changes from second to first-order. The q → 1 + limit that describes the bond-percolation problem is also investigated.

Yang-Lee zeros of the Q-state Potts model on recursive lattices.

The Yang-Lee zeros of the Q-state Potts model on recursive lattices are studied for noninteger values of Q. Considering one-dimensional (1D) lattice as a Bethe lattice with coordination number equal to 2, the location of Yang-Lee zeros of 1D ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic Potts models is completely analyzed in terms of neutral periodical points. Three different regimes for Yang-Lee zeros a...

Partition Function Zeros of the Q-state Potts Model for Non-integer Q

The distribution of the zeros of the partition function in the complex temperature plane (Fisher zeros) of the two-dimensional Q-state Potts model is studied for non-integer Q. On L × L self-dual lattices studied (L ≤ 8), no Fisher zero lies on the unit circle p0 = e iθ in the complex p = (e − 1)/√Q plane for Q < 1, while some of the Fisher zeros lie on the unit circle for Q > 1 and the number ...

Evidence of exactness of the mean-field theory in the nonextensive regime of long-range classical spin models

The q-state Potts model with long-range interactions that decay as 1/r subjected to a uniform magnetic field on d-dimensional lattices is analyzed for different values of q in the nonextensive regime 0<a<d . We calculate the mean-field solution of the model for all q and performed, for some values of q, Monte Carlo simulations for the spontaneous magnetization in the one-dimensional case. We sh...

The one-dimensional Potts model with long-range interactions: a renormalization group approach

The one-dimensional q-state Potts model with ferromagnetic pair interactions which decay with the distance r as 1/r is considered. We calculate, through a real-space renormalization group technique using Kadanoff blocks of length b, the critical temperature Tc(b, q, α) and the correlation length critical exponent ν(b, q, α) as a function of α for different values of q. Some of the very few know...

Density of states, Potts zeros, and Fisher zeros of the Q-state Potts model for continuous Q.

The Q-state Potts model can be extended to noninteger and even complex Q by expressing the partition function in the Fortuin-Kasteleyn (F-K) representation. In the F-K representation the partition function Z(Q,a) is a polynomial in Q and v=a-1 (a=e(betaJ)) and the coefficients of this polynomial, Phi(b,c), are the number of graphs on the lattice consisting of b bonds and c connected clusters. W...
