چکیده
PENKOV, D., 2007. Duration of balance trials with caecectomized Muscovy drakes (C. moshata L.). Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 13: 375-378 The decrease of excretion of caecectomized 42-44 wk. Muscovy drakes up to minimum relatively stable levels was evaluated by measuring excreted dry matter and amino acids in regular intervals. The dynamics of the quantity of excreta and amino acids was recorded up to the 12th hour after starvation, followed by relatively stable minimum values. The recommended period of cleaning of the digestive tract of caecectomized Muscovy drakes should be 12 to 18 hours.

Inheritance of duration of fertility in female common ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) inseminated in pure breeding or in inter-generic crossbreeding with Muscovy drakes (Cairina moschata).
Ducks (common, Muscovy and mule ducks) are the third most important bird species in animal production for human consumption worldwide. Our study aimed to improve the efficiency of mule duck breeding, thus contributing to the efficiency of food production in general. In the common duck, females can be bred either with males of the same species (i.e. in pure breeding (PB) subscript p) or in inter...

In France, about 95% of the fatty liver production comes from mule ducks, an infertile hybrid cross between female common ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) and Muscovy drakes (Cairina moschata). As a hybrid, genetic improvement of the performance of mule ducks is achieved by selection of the parental populations. Feed represents two-thirds of the total costs of duck production; thus, the breeders’ mai...

The mule duck, an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing Common duck (Anas Platyrhynchos) females with Muscovy (Cairina moschata) drakes, is widely used for fatty liver production. The purpose of the present study is to detect and map single and pleitropic QTL segregating in the Common duck species, having an influence on the expression of traits in their overfed mule ducks offspring. To thi...
متن کاملInfluence of caecectomy and source of dietary fibre or starch on excretion of endogenous amino acids by laying hens.
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of caecectomy and source of dietary fibre and starch on excretion of amino acids by laying hens. In Expt 1, caecectomized hens excreted significantly higher levels of several amino acids than intact hens during a 24 h fasting period. These differences were greatest for threonine, proline and leucine. In Expt 2, caecectomized and intact hens...
