Restless leg syndrome and slow coronary flow. Is it inflammation or autonomic nervous system?

چکیده
handgrip. There are other approaches for evaluating the autonomic nervous system by heart rate variability (HRV) parameters from shortor longterm monitoring (2). We agree that HRV and bedside autonomic function tests for evaluating the autonomic nervous system provide complementary information regarding autonomic regulatory mechanisms in health and disease. However, the bedside autonomic function tests were more feasible for us during the study. We also considered that spectrum bias may account for differences in the reported results between the investigations. Therefore, in order to point out the difference between the cardiovascular autonomic function of RA patients and general population, we will design another prospective cohort study with complementary and more sensitive tests.

Is autonomic nervous system involved in restless legs syndrome during wakefulness?
OBJECTIVE To investigate cardiovascular autonomic function in patients with restless leg syndrome (RLS) by means of cardiovascular reflexes and heart rate variability (HRV) during wakefulness. METHODS Twelve RLS patients and 14 controls underwent cardiovascular function tests including head-up tilt test (HUTT), Valsalva maneuver, deep breathing, hand grip, and cold face. HRV analysis was perf...
متن کاملCoronary slow flow and acute coronary syndrome in a patient with spinal cord injury.
We report the case of a 55-year-old man who presented with acute coronary syndrome due to coronary slow flow after spinal cord injury. Data regarding the causes and clinical manifestations of coronary slow flow are inconclusive, but the autonomic nervous system is believed to be at least a contributing factor. The predominant vagal activity causes vasodilation and hemostasis, which can lead to ...

Abstract Background & Aim: Restless leg syndrome is a common disorder among hemodialysis patients which decreases the quality of life of these patients. This study aims to determine the effect of stretching exercises on the quality of life of hemodialysis patients with restless leg syndrome. Material & Methods: It was a randomized clinical trial. The sample consisted...

Objective: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the most common metabolicdisorders. It is assumed that restless leg syndrome (RLS) occur more in diabetics. Our study aims to investigate the relationship between DM and restless leg syndrome. Materials and Methods: Our study conducted as a Case- control study, containing 180 patients as the cases and 201 as the controls from June 2016 to March...

Background—We studied the role of the central nervous system, neural feedback from contracting skeletal muscles, and sympathetic activity to the heart in the control of heart rate and blood pressure during 2 levels of dynamic exercise. Methods and Results—Spinal cord–injured individuals (SCI) with (paraplegia, n 4) or without (tetraplegia, n 6) sympathetic innervation to the heart performed ele...
