Reversed reciprocal rhythm.

چکیده
An example of reversed reciprocal rhythm is presented with associated 2:I heart block and other abnormalities of conduction. The electrocardiograms have been analysed and compared with an earlier electrocardiogram in which sinus rhythm was present. Despite dramatic electrocardiographic abnormalities, evidence is offered which suggests that there may have been only a small alteration in activity of the already damaged cardiac conducting tissue. Analysis of this patient's electrocardiograms may be of value in understanding the behaviour of abnormal cardiac conducting tissue.

Escape-capture bigeminy. Mechanisms in S-A block, A-V block, and reversed reciprocal rhythm.
The term escape-capture bigeminy was coined by Bradley and Marriott (1958) in preference to "pseudo-reciprocal rhythm". This arrhythmia simulates reciprocal rhythm in having a P wave "sandwiched" between two QRS complexes. It differs from true reciprocal rhythm, however, in that the P wave is normal and does not result from retrograde activation. The purpose of this paper is to present three di...
متن کاملAtrial reciprocal rhythm following DC conversion of atrial flutter.
T RADITIONALLY, reciprocal rhythms have been classified as atrial and ventricular on the basis of the site to which the impulse returns.1) While the ventricular reciprocal rhythm is not uncommon, the atrial rhythm is exceedingly rare, clinically.2) We experienced an example of atrial reciprocal rhythm following electrical conversion for atrial flutter. To our knowledge, no case of atrial recipr...
متن کاملReciprocal rhythm of ventricular origin during atrial fibrillation with complete AV block.
A case of reciprocal rhythm of ventricular origin associated with atrial fibrillation and complete AV block is described. This manifestation shows that an atrial bridge is not an essential link in the reciprocal mechanism, and that the reciprocal mechanism is effected through the presence of an upper common AV nodal pathway.
متن کاملSlow dorsal-ventral rhythm generator in the lamprey spinal cord.
In the isolated lamprey spinal cord, a very slow rhythm (0.03-0.11 Hz), superimposed on fast N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-induced locomotor activity (0.26-2.98 Hz), could be induced by a blockade of GABA(A) or glycine receptors or by administration of (1 s, 3 s)-l-aminocyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid a metabotropic glutamate receptor agonist. Ventral root branches supplying dorsal and ventral...
