چکیده

Introduction: Manganese Enhanced MRI (MEMRI) has been increasingly used in animal neuroimaging thanks to its T1 shortening properties and the fact that it can enter active voltage gated calcium channels [1]. With the higher magnetic field strengths, while the longitudinal and transverse relaxivity as a function of Mn concentration, r1 and r2*, remain virtually unchanged, the tissues R1 and R2* tend to decrease and increase respectively. Furthermore, the susceptibility induced frequency shift varies linearly with the increase of the magnetic field. Mn, due to its paramagnetism, can thus be exploited using phase imaging to further enhance neural architecture in animal models [2]. The aim of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the dynamic evolution of T1, T2* in different regions of the rat brain throughout a Mn systemic administration, follow its uptake at 14.1T and access the impact on phase imaging.

In vivo measurements of T1 relaxation times in mouse brain associated with different modes of systemic administration of manganese chloride.

PURPOSE To measure regional T1 and T2 values for normal C57Bl/6 mouse brain and changes in T1 after systemic administration of manganese chloride (MnCl2) at 9.4 T. MATERIALS AND METHODS C57Bl/6 mice were anesthetized and baseline T1 and T2 measurements obtained prior to measurement of T1 after administration of MnCl2 at 9.4 T. MnCl2 was administered systemically either by the intravenous (IV)...

Development of Timd2 as a reporter gene for MRI

PURPOSE To assess the potential of an MRI gene reporter based on the ferritin receptor Timd2 (T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein 2), using T1- and T2-weighted imaging. METHODS Pellets of cells that had been modified to express the Timd2 transgene, and incubated with either iron-loaded or manganese-loaded ferritin, were imaged using T1- and T2-weighted MRI. Mice were als...

The Effect of Foliar Application of Nano-chelate Super Plus ZFM on Fruit Set and some Quantitative and Qualitative Traits of Almond Commercial Cultivars

The nutritional problems in almond orchards have increased because of alkaline soils and insufficient nutrition. This study was done to evaluate the effect of nano-chelate super plus ZFM (Zinc, Iron and Manganese) spraying on quantitative and qualitative characteristics of almond commercial cultivars. This work was carried out in factorial experiment base on randomized complete block design wit...

Hindered or restricted predominance of the diffusion weighted signal function of the diffusion time at ultra-high magnetic field

Introduction: The exact origin of water diffusion anisotropy in brain white matter is not fully understood. Several modeling have been proposed to explain the biophysical mechanisms but it is still not clear whether the observed diffusion anisotropy arises from the intra-axonal compartment (primarily restricted diffusion) or the extraaxonal compartment (primarily hindered diffusion) or some com...
